If you haven't gotten the announcement yet, here's the link.
Keeping yourself safe online. They should've posted this right when they made the offers. gonk
But after many complaints, I guess they decided to post a little blurb about not entering personal info online. Which is what you have to do to do many of the offers. How appropriate.

Agreed!
Why didn't they put this announcement out sooner? I mean, safety rules are good anyway and we NEED REMINDING of them.
This has got to be the first Safety reminder that I have received from Gaia since I first joined, and although I'm not about to go giving my email or home address out, I am a little partial to using my full name (atleast my first and second name) a lot!.

Thank you! Though I couldn't help that this is an indicator that the offers aren't moving any time soon.

As thumbs-uppity as this is, I still think it's a rather quarter-assed attempt at shushing people and washing their hands or legal responsibility. The thing didn't mention offers ANYWHERE.

In my opinion, they posted that as a fallback so that is any legal issues came about, they could say "we told them not to give the offers info! Right there, this announcement points to the FAQ and safety guidelines we've had for years, and they haven't been changed ever to reflect all the changes to the site!"

You hit ze nail on ze head.
And it's creepy that almost every kid website thing has a "cash shop" that you use real money for to buy stuff.
Well now when people get all that beautiful spam and wonderful viruses, they can just say, "We said don't enter your personal info."
They should change either the offers or the info, so that they match. If they TRUELY cared about our safety, they would take the offers off. Period.
