Ultimate Mercenary Champion
Development team base Deadline: November 15th, 2009. Official discussion forum of Project: UMC Overseer: Darius Roslyn
---------- Hello, and welcome to the development base of the Ultimate Mercenary Championship. My name is Darius Roslyn; founder of the UMC and overseer of its development.
The Ultimate Mercenary Championship: referred to as the UMC, is an invitation-only battle tournament that pits members of the League against one another in a little friendly competition. The members to receive an invitation (contestants) are to be seeded into the competition bracket, and will progress through the bracket until only one is left standing. The winner of the tournament receives a generous prize of 500,000 gold and the title of Ultimate Mercenary.

Overall construction plan
---------- Sub forum one: The Tournament This is where the tournament will be held. Below, a basic outline at what sort of things we’ll have inside.
Registered Contestants thread; where the Council will post all accepted profiles, and I will maintain a list of the Registered Contestant. The Tournament Bracket An IC Lounge/Sparring room: a place to role-play as your UMC character outside of matches. All the matches throughout the tournament And a match history thread, where each match will be summarized once judgment has been made
Sub forum two: Information and Logistics All technical work of the UMC
All information available on the UMC (see Intel Database) Questions and assistance; self explanatory. Request for Surveillance: A thread devised to inform the Judges what members are working towards an invitation Final Registration thread; where the contestants will post their profiles after they’ve received their invitations to be approved by the Judges. Registered Contestants thread; where the Council will post all accepted profiles, update them if needed, and will also include a list of the all registered contestants. A Council House (or several); where the Judge’s will gather to discuss the matches. Arena Development: where the Judge’s will discuss possible match arenas. Councilmen Application: Where members can apply to be a Judge An OOC lounge
Main page threads: The UMC: The Tournament of Champions: Basic information thread that will include a brief description of what the UMC is, as well as a guide to becoming a member UMC announcements: Anything new, changes to be made, match dates, ect. Tournament announcements: Who won what match, their scores, and an updated tournament bracket.-------------------------- Astounding what you can get done with a half broken space bar that only works if you really pound down on it. I've had to paste every space in every sentence using ctrl+V. Thank god for those little red lines, xD
Tonight, prepare for a little change in pace. I have to work at five so don't expect me to be online until some time between eleven and one.

All that boring stuff
---------- Threads that needs to be created:
The Tournament Bracket IC Lounge/Sparring Room Match History Thread The Council House Arena Development OOC Lounge
What needs to be done:
A small write up for each thread listed above; Opening posts Form for Council Application thread; things required to become a Judge Discuss how to divide the Intel. Database -> Will explain further upon request.-------------------------- What’s listed above is all the work that’s left until the UMC is complete; that, and rearranging it with the help of a Crew member. Decide what you’re willing to work on, post it here, and then you can start. Anything not listed I will be handling myself.
If there’s anything you’d like to discuss; bring it up now. If not, then get to work. If I feel you're not working quickly enough, or you're not showing effort then I'll just do it myself. When you say you're going to do something, then I expect you to do it, but I will not wait around forever until you get it done.
The construction Deadline is November 15th, 2009.

So correct me if I'm wrong. It seems like this whole thing probably needs a guild of its own, right? Kinda like the Beyon tournament long, LONG ago (I know Gear has to remember this); we only used that guild to host it and avoid confusion and once we were done, we just...left. ._.
If that's the case and if you need it, I have an empty guild with about 5 sub-forums. It was my very own RP guild that I stopped using 2 years ago. I'm willing to make someone VC and Crew and whatever is needed. No strings attached.
Now, if we DO need a guild, I can only assume the Lounge, Council house and such would be placed on the main Forum. I can take care of that too; all of those threads.
So there.

K', if it needed it's own Guild, it would already have one. All we need are two sub-forums, permission to have our announcement threads on the main forum, and a Crew member to place everything where it's suppose to be when the time comes. I'm sure Wielder will be all gung-hoe about that,
And as for you doing all the work there is to do; not a chance. The work is to be divided between whomever is willing to take it. I won't rely on a single person to do everything, even if no one else is willing to do their share. I'm not stupid. I've seen what you people do when you're left responsible for something. None of you have proven you can handle responsibility, and none of you have proven to live up to your words. You think you can do it all? Start out with a few things K', get them done before you try and tackle it all. Prove you're not a liar.
Yeah, I'm being crude. Yeah, I'm being pretty harsh too. But you know what I figured out? People respond to it. It's a good motivator.

Well, the reason I said I would do it all is because I figured I would...DO IT ALL. No, seriously, I can see why you can't trust others but at least *I* try to keep my promises even if it kills me. So that's why I said I could all that.
And no, I didn't mean all as in the WHOLE list. It was just this: Quote: Threads that needs to be created: The Tournament Bracket IC Lounge/Sparring Room Match History Thread The Council House Arena Development OOC Lounge
I meant the just the threads, which is quite easy. All you need is an intro for each, right? That should take me like, what, a whole day? But it can't take me a whole week, that's for sure. Unless you want me to do something else to it. Like, add different rooms, weapons, guards or something like that.
The "Form a Council..." and "Intel. Database" is still up for grabs. I won't choose to work on that until/unless I'm done with the threads, if that's okay with you. Just point me out to the sub-forum or tell me if it's okay to start working on this one and I'll get right to it.

All the threads need to be created here first. Once everything's set up in this sub, I'll get Gear to make the second where we'll host the tournament. Then all we'll need is a Crew to rearrange and we'll be done.
You're right. It should only take you a day, maybe two. If you really plan on creating all the threads that are left, and writing something up for them as well, then start out with just a few of them.
The Tournament Bracket IC Lounge/Sparring room
There, you've been assigned work. When you complete that, I'll give you something else to do.

Gotcha. One last question. The Tournament Bracket...is it like the intro for the whole thing? The one topic that will describe what the tournament is about, what to do and such? eek

Erm, I wasn't going to use that thread like that. The Tournament Bracket is just that; the Tournament Bracket. The bracket is what the contestants will be seeded into before the tournament begins, and will either advance through or be eliminated from as the tournament progresses.

Hmm...alright! For now, I'll start working on the other threads. I'll create the Tournament Bracket thread too but I'm not sure what to do with it. It seems we need all the contestant's usernames before this thread can be considered finished. sweatdrop But I'll see what I can do.
EDIT: IC Lounger/Sparring Room is finished. I just need your approval.

The Lounge/Sparring room is good, as is the Tournament bracket. I'm glad you lived up to your words, K'. You can work on the other threads if you like. Tomorrow I'll complete my end of things and then we'll move on to dividing the Intel.Database up.

And as always, let me know if it's okay or if it needs to be changed.
