Have you or do you ever been criticized and flamed for being 18+ on Gaia?
I just had some kid actually attempt to upset me by telling me its sad that I'm 20 and playing a game rolleyes I personally do not consider Gaia a game. All I do is post in Life Issues and Extended Discussion, on occasion. Even going to those forums is intimidating.
Does that mean I can't play WoW either? crying
I've been trying to get back into Gaia. I still have friends on this site, many whom are older than me (Anyone know Grandpa Jones? He's awesome). This site used to be a nice place, it was the original "social network" site for me. But with the invasion of youngins' and I'm not complaining, I know this site is for them too, but sheesh, their little 'tudes get old after awhile.

lol don't worry I'm sorta in the same predicament I'm 24 and I love Gaia and will continue to hang around here for some time, I've gotten the "you're too old to be on gaia" crap too but I just ignore it. lol

I've also gotten the occasion "hey your to old (I'm 23)." though i hide in my guilds mostly so that keeps most the comments away.

Yea, sometimes the youngsters do make me feel out of place.
When you tell a 15 year old your age they freak out and make a huge scene, it's not even necessary. Although, there is the occasional 15 year old who tells you they're 15 and then u say 19 and her age magically increases by 2 years because she wants to hang around you. Now those kids are humorous xD
I even lied to this really sweet guy the other night because I thought he was younger than me >.< We were having a great conversation and then he asked my age...didn't want to freak him out. Come to find out, he was the same age =z
I don't even know why I lied, it's just ...instinct. As if I have to survive in a world of preteens. It's sad =( I'm not telling anymore fibs to nice guys -.-
And what are we freaking out about anyhow? I'm 19, Beatrix is 20... WE'RE STILL YOUNG O.o and the fact of the matter is, 90% of the kids under 16 on this site, don't need to be on this site xD
So who cares what 11 year olds think; they barely know how to wipe their bums razz

lol I'm even older then the rest of you guys, at this point yall are still kids! But no one really gives me much grief about my age, I let my age be known, I post in LD and LI, and in the guilds I belong to. I just think most of the wee ones are too young to be on the internet as much as THEY are! Dont they have homework and chores? I work for a living, and hang out in Gaia while at work, well because I'm the boss and I can lol! I dont plan on stopping because a 13yr old freaks on me! I own older children then that! I think as long as no ones being pervy to the little kids, age really shouldnt matter to post or play zomg!

Meh. I've had people say I was to old for Gaia, and even one youngling call me a ***** and threaten to call the cops on me while I was fishing. That was funny. We were talking about the military of all things when I mentioned I was in the service, which prompted her to ask my age. Needless to say, I ignored most of what came after.
The bottom line to me is simple. Gaia is partially (mostly?) funded by purchase of MCs, EIs, and other Cash Shop Items. How many of the younger crowd can actively afford what is being put out? It's the older Gaians who can actively afford to buy these things, which makes me wonder what would happen if all of us 'old folk' left Gaia. How long would it last with out the money we spend? Be interesting to see.

It's pretty sad when you go into town and you see all the guys asking to cyber...it makes me wonder how many of them are even older than like 12 o.O
Im pretty sure there has got to be a few ***** on here..easy access...kids not smart enough to realize that the person they are talking to is probably as old as there dad or mum or even grandpa
its sad....and when the nice people (like us) say our age its automatically "OMG your soooooo old like ew?" lol

I was never flamed... once or twice someone was surprised
but honestly the amount of adult on Gaia is impressing we just don't hang out at the same place.
A lot of us are guild bug and those who venture in the forum don't usually disclose there age for everyone to see.
Personally I think everyone is welcome on gaia,
of course you find a few jerk along the way but those are found everywhere.

Yeah...Ive met a couple guys that like them young...like barely legal,just had their 18th brithday and can now buy cigarettes young.
