So my grandparents lived in a town in the prefecture of Ibaraki, Japan. I lived there for awhile and taking care of them. The prefecture actually had his own Henshin Hero whom protected all of Ibaraki. His name was Ibaliger, and he was pretty much a cool guy.

To add some perspective to this, Ibaraki is pretty much a countryside type area, and it's about an hour from inner city Tokyo. So for Ibaraki to have henshin hero is like Nowhereville, Idaho having it's own hero.

Anyway, there was one particular poster that was posted all over town. And because Japanese people frequently butcher the english language, this poster was quite a treat to see all around town:

The joke pretty much speaks for itself.

But yeah, he was legitimately pretty cool. He would appear at local events for children and the local news and stuff. He had a few sidekicks include this fat alternate universe version of himself called "Imoliger". Imo, for reference, means potato.

Anyway, here's some more stuff from this guy:

The part with the kids is really cute. There's one kid in yellow pants who's particularly thrilled to have met him.

Holy crap! I actually know about this dude. I had an IRL friend who studied abroad at Tsukuba, and whenever I told him I liked Tokusatsu, he told me all about this guy. Apparently, he even got a chance to sit and watch them shoot some footage of him fighting some bad guys in a field near his school.

By the way, if you ever go back to Japan, I'd pretty much pay any price or any gaia item to get an Ibaliger t-shirt! I'm dead serious. I attempted to have my friend help me order one, but apparently they only sell them at local shops and Ibaliger events. I don't even care what color it is!
