|History| Shyru was born in Japan with a mom and a dad. He lived happily with them and they had a peaceful life. One day Shyru asked his parents if he could join a self defense class. They agreed in hopes of him learning discipline and being able to defend himself. He readily completed earlier than expected and took on a new martial art. Eventually he began to take various ones at once. He completed all of them on his fourteenth birthday. One day his parents decided to go on a vacation to Italy. When he arrived, everything was normal, until he was knocked down into a dark alley when he was alone. He was approached by what looked like a baby and he laughed until the baby kicked his butt. the baby then told him that he was the successor of the Vongola Family and he looked back at him puzzled. When the baby mentioned the Mafia, Shyru jumped. Eventually he accepted it and they began to train once they arrived back home in Japan. The baby, an Arcobaleno, took alias as Shyru's home tutor once they were home. Now Shyru's task is to find guardians and start his family.

|Personality| this baseballer-turned-mafia has a warm and friendly personality and is rarely seen not smiling. He is, however, very naive to the point of believing that Reborn's weapons are advanced kid's toys and that the mafia business is one big cops-and-robbers game. Yamamoto is regarded by various Reborn characters, especially Tsuna, as being reliable and almost never fails to deliver. A prominent example is how he won the turnaround match for Tsuna's family in the Varia arc against Superbi Squalo in a sword fight no-one thought he could win.

|History| Yamamoto joined the group in the attack on the Kokuyo gang. He was attacked by Ken and he two ended up trapped underground. Disadvantaged due to both his broken bat and Ken's ability to smell him Yamamoto was unwilling to let himself be hurt. However once Tsuna was in danger he sacrificed an arm to beat Ken. Later when Lancia attacked Yamamoto was able to figure out the secret to his chain ball attack but was defeated all the same.
In the future Yamamoto lead Tsuna and Gokudera to the Vongola base where they met with Reborn. It is there that it is revealed that Yamamoto's dad was killed by the Millfiore. Later during a fight with the Millfiore he is swapped with his past self. Along with Tsuna and Gokudera he later begins traning with Lal and was able to quicklydraw out the rings flame though he coulden't open all his boxes. Later while searching for Hibari he and Gokudera follow a lead to Namimori Shrine and encounter Gamma. Despite convincing Gokudera to work with him the two were defeated. Hibari arrived just in time to save them fro a fatal blow.
After recovery Takeshi began training with Reborn as his home tutor. During traning Reborn promised to reveal the Acrobaleno's secret if Yamamoto's training was sucessful. Reborn gave Yamamoto a DVD of Squalo titled 'The Road to becoming the Swords Emperor' with 101 battles Squalo won. After developing new tecniques from the video Yamamoto was sucsessfuly able to rip Reborn's hat. Reborn then told Yamamoto about the secret of the Arcobaleno, but asked him not to tell anyone else until after they defeated the Millefiore. During the attack on the Melone base, Yamamoto, along with the unconscious Lal, were separated from the others. He then encountered Genkishi and although he was able to make him draw his Sword he was overpowered by Genkishi's illusions.After he was knocked out he was once again saved by Hibari.
When Squalo arrived at the base, he began training Yamamoto and while in the in the woods, Takeshi decided to follow the path of the sword devotedly. Yamamoto was included in the very first Choice battle. During the battle he encountered Saru who quickly revealed himself to be Genkishi. Using his new Vongola box and improved sword style, which is much like the first Rain Guardians, according to Reborn, Yamamoto was then able to defeat Genkishi. While lying injured and telling Yamamoto he will eventually defeat him, Genkishi is killed by Kikyo's bellflowers. Yamamoto then went to attack the Millfiore target Daisy and defeated her at the same time as Kikyo defeated Irie. However because of Daisy's undying power, Takeshi's victory didn't count. After the defeat of Byakuran, it was time for new Arcobaleno to be picked and Takashi was one of them due to his Swordsmanship and reliability.
