"2. NO decisions or discussions had in ANY external chat will count as official within the guild UNLESS previously announced and clearly marked and logged."
We discussed the merge in kroo, but never posted anything as to doing it at a certain time or in a certain way. nothing had been posted. all decisions about it were made in our skype chat.
if you are in kroo and weren't here last night at all, you're off the hook.
But other than that, none of us caught that and stopped it. we broke a rule, that previously had no "ramifications" and we all, as a kroo, together, need to take responsibility for our mistake.
Should the rule have ramifications? Should we make those? Is there anything we should do to go about this situation? <3

Bans plz. :3
Seriously though, why was a rule made with no punishment for breaking it?
But it's not like kroo is going to punish themselves anyways.

I thought we did discuss it here? I could have sworn there was a topic here talking about it, and with a lot of people saying they were in favor, I figured they started it because of that.
Now, I thought the merging thing was dumb, but I don't think they technically broke a rule doing it.

No no no, The rule was made so that hasty actions aren't made in the Skype chat when everyone is supposedly there and there has been no discussion of the topic in the Kroo/Guild Business Forums. We implied this rule so that doesn't happen. I also realize that there was no penalty applied to these rules, but the problem is when it is the problem of the entire Kroo (and yes, I'm saying it is ALL of Kroo's fault) it's hard for a punishment to cover all of us when I think that in the end of all of this fiasco, it's hard enough dealing with the consequences of our actions than it is easy enough to slap a warning on it and be done with the matter.
@ Cherry: here was no rule broken on the merging thing, the rule broken was that of the Skype Chats. I'm not totally certain on what you mean by: "I thought we did discuss it here? I could have sworn there was a topic here talking about it, and with a lot of people saying they were in favor, I figured they started it because of that." I'm going to assume it's about merging... There was a thread about that but it was in the Main Forum, not Guild Business (that I recall). And Shoy was right in his thread that there was no future warning of it, no forum changes, no guild header changes, nothing really...
@Kichi: K. *bans Kichi* :] AND it's not that Kroo doesn't want to punish themselves, but in this particular case, WE have to deal with what WE have wrought. Our faults, our problem. It's hard to slap a punishment that covers EVERYONE involved with Kroo.

well, I'm not saying "lol all kroo sux we need warning!" but some sort of SOMETHING that makes us not want to break the rules, and ESPECIALLY something that keeps this from happening again. maybe get rid of skype chat for a bit.

Insomnesiac Hey guild, have you noticed how really slow and spread out we are? We were discussing about merging some sub-forums temporarily, like for a couple of months, till we get more active. Do you guys think we should merge a few subforums together for a little while till we get more active again. When you only get a couple of posts in a forum in a few days that's pretty slow. So what do you think, in favor of this or now. Thanks guys <3 Insomnesiac What happened to so many people wanting change? Anyway, I got a revised version of this. Relaxed rules, all new threads go in the main, the few currently active threads get moved to the main. This lasts until the Masquerade. Think of it as an experiment to see how active we really are. And my personal opinion, when I don't see other people posting, I don't really feel like posting either. But when a few threads actually have some new posts made in say, the last hour/30mins, I want to see whats going on because it means there is someone to respond. I don't want to put Insom on the spot, but this was basically the first post in her thread, I know the second part was added later. However, all the points that you are talking about Pixie, everything you guys did, had been talked about with everyone. Insom had this posted, if you didn't add to this discussion, it is not the crews fault. You might be mad that crew did what it did, but if you had been paying attention to the guild, you should not have been surprised with what happened. Basically, crew doesn't deserve to be punished for the guilds lack of participation. That is all.

it'd been talked about, but not DECIDED on. nothing had been DECIDED on. I'm not saying "gosh this was so unexpected, how horrible of us" but more "we made all of our decisions on the spot in the skype chat, instead of in the guild, like it's supposed to be done."
we did, clearly, break a rule.
we were making the decision ourselves in kroo, guild participation didn't make us do what we did, was just poor planning and decision making.
I don't know if you mean you like me or you like people in the guild?

I think when kroo does something wrong as their punishment they should hand the guild over to me for a week and then when they come back they have to fix all the chaos I have caused smile You would never break a rule if that was the consequence.

Yes, it sucks balls that a poor decision was randomly made in the skype chat. But, I literally can't think of a single thing to do that would be an appropriate "punishment" for the kroo. And, considering that basically the entire kroo is at fault for not recognizing that was being done, I just think that we should just move on with this. I think the lesson this merge fiasco provided for us is deterrent enough for sudden skypechat decisions.

[Moseley] @ Cherry: I'm going to assume it's about merging... There was a thread about that but it was in the Main Forum, not Guild Business (that I recall). Yeah, that's what I meant. I guess I'm not really sure exactly what the kroo has to do before they do something like the merging. I figured that they were going to try it out anyway and since they had made that topic about it that it was fair enough warning. So I guess what I'm saying is that I thought everything had gone the way it was supposed to but I guess I was wrong. As for punishment: It didn't hurt anyone, everything's back to normal, let's just let it be, and let the chaos that followed be the punishment.

I sort of laughed because I had no idea that rule existed. But I'm sort of glad it does. Most of the laugh was because I first thought of the whole run-off scandal, and I wondered if it was created before or after that.
ANYWAYS, It would be really nice if you guys would take some of the stuff from the skypechat and actually post it somewhere (Not just copypaste "[Pixie says 3:30AM] LOL") in maybe Kroo or so for A) less backreading and B) so that people not on skype at the time can look at it ... and C) so you don't break your own rule.
I'd say for punishment, since giving Kroo warnings won't really make much of a difference, just take this as a trial and error event. There was chaos, learn from it and how NOT to create chaos.
Note: Skypechat was originally for SHORT QUICK decisions. Things like "OMG lets merge forums" do not belong there, they belong on "paper" in threads in the guild. Those are BIG decisions. Don't eliminate skypechat, think about what it's for.
