HAve you ever been in church and some guy, or girl gets really into the whole worship thing and lifts their hands up, and starts shaking their head and start shouting gods name...? Then that same person goes out and gets hammered and does stupid stuff... Has this ever happened to anyone else? It seems to happen to me quite often...
I really think it's becuase of these people that the christian faith is mocked so much in today's media...
It's becuase people claim to be christian, but don't really understand what it means to follow god.

No. besides these people there's another perfectly good reason the christian faith is mocked. It's because some of not most of the people in the christian fait...religion(or at least has been my experience in North America) act like a bunch of know it all's with a hard on for Jesus. In case you dont know what i mean by my bluntness. I mean that no one likes being told what to believe...and being told their beliefs are wrong. Think of it this way theirs a new religion sweeping the world with about a billion people are followers already, they come to your house ring your door bell and tell you if you dont accept ping pong as your lord(number people really dont want to except something as lord especially if they dont believe in it) and savior (the audacity these people have telling me I need their savior). At this point your mildly agitated, so you say no thanks, and tell them to leave they persist, telling you about how bad a person you are and where you'll end up when you die; you then get pissed off and maybe like most people one bad experience sours your perception of these group of people. Now I'm not saying don't share the word of God, im just saying maybe you should keep the whole this is a person with beliefs and experiences who has may or may not heard the gospel before...and possibly had a bad experience because of a bunch of over zealous morons. I've always believed that actions speak louder than words, by this i mean look at the salvation army who can say ill of what they do...just a couple of things i wanted to get out there.
oh and as for those people you spoke of, while detrimental...there still not as bad. I'd recommend confronting them in a most apologetic way.
