Okay, I read about people getting malware and viruses and stuff thet KEEPS YOU FROM RUNNING SPYBOT AND STUFF.
Not fun.
I actually had to deal with one of those on my siblings' computer a few months ago. The computer had NO antivurus, antispyware, or anti-anything software on it, so I guess it was a bit of a target. The bad thing wouldn't let me install spybot or anything on it.
SHOULD YOU EVER GET A VIRUS OR TROJAN OR MALWARE LIKE THAT, HERE IS YOUR SOLUTION.
Hiren's BootCD.
Pretty much, you download it and burn it to a cd. I don't remember if it's a buncha files or a .iso, but I downloaded and burned it, and you somply boot the computer from the CD drive and then start the mini windows xp, which I think is windows 200 or something. Then, it has a bunch of programs to get the virus off your computer, and the virus can't run when you're booted from the disc.
So, if you want to be ready for a possible virus, download and burn Hiren's BootCD. I've tested it on Windows XP and vista, but not Windows 7. Yet.
Also, if you've got an evil side, it does more than virus removal. You can maintenance user accounts and stuff without booting the m9ini windows. I used it to remove my dad's admin password on the vista computer so I could install iTunes for my sister.
Anyway, I'll leave this as an announcement for a while, until I get a Virus Removal and Prevention subforum set up.
I hope I was helpful!

I know I just had to wipe my computer of everything I had so we can use it again. Needless to say, it pissed me off. I lost all that I had saved on that hard drive, which was a lot.

Yeah, I definitely love the cd, especially since my dad's solution for every computer problem is reformat it.

My sisters' computer got loaded with malware and stuff that wouldn't let me install or run any kind of antivirus or anything.... MY SISTERS ARE TARDS. Anyway, it took a bit of searching, but I discovered Hiren's BootCd.
