I know this sounds like a weird question to start a thread, but I think many people have different impressions of who God is to them, whether He be Saviour, Father, Friend, Lover, etc. Who is God to you and how would you describe your relationship?
As for me, I used to see God as a typical Father and I was His child (well, technically I still am). But now that I'm older, my relationship is growing more intimate. God is like a Lover or Life Supporter or Intimate Companion.

For a while there, God was the guy in heaven who watched over us but I didnt feel to connected to him.
Then he became a friend I talked to a lot, and a saviour who saved me through those tough times, and stayed with me even if I tried to run away from him.
He's also like a patient father, you know the one that waits for you to come back to him. Also the kind that doesnt get angry when you tell him the things you did bad.
I like that. smile
I think one thing we always forget though, is that God is also a king. Which itself means a lot off different things. A king is a rule, but what type of ruler is God to you? The nice one, the greedy one, the one that wants to take over the world, the loving one. Things like that.

Definitely the nice one and gracious, caring, and glorious ruler. That's a good point. I've heard said something that went like "the relationship you had with your father often reflects who you think God is". It's true in a lot of people's lives. My dad was present, loving, and fun to be around. We have a special relationship. That's how special my relationship is with God, too. He supplies all my needs. He gives and takes away, and he never leaves you.

My dad was present, loving, and fun to be around. We have a special relationship. That's how special my relationship is with God, too. He supplies all my needs. He gives and takes away, and he never leaves you. See mine was different. I know my dad loves me, but we don't talk a lot. He gives me what I need and sometimes hangs out with me, but generally the hanging out doesnt happen. We go shopping once a week. So my relationship with God usually turns into that. Church on sunday, sometimes I ask God for things, other then that he is just there. Which is completely not true. It's just what I turn the relationship into.

even when i was a little kid i was always scared if 1 day my parents died or got into an acident of left me. I know god wont do that EVER

God for me is my Savior, my Dad, my Bestfriend, my Lover, my everything! He understands, he loves, he takes care, and he forgives me always. ALWAYS. He never fails me. He is faithful. He is my GOD. And idk, i find everything i need in him. People around me... sometimes i need to act ok, because if i show them my sadness or like, when i have a problem, they somehow don't understand... like they don't symphatize.. i need to have a front when facing other people. But to God, he listen to everything I say. He listen to my praises, my complaints, my sorrys, my thank yous.. everything! I tried to be away from him. Yeah, i tried. Not praying, sinning on purpose... but i can't take it. Idk why. I just need him.
So, yeah. He's basicaly my everything biggrin
