Zacharias was feeling relatively good. Dusk was just beginning to fall, he'd gotten a warm glass of O+ from the blood-bank, and he'd taken the moral high-road by letting Quintin have the top bunk until their human companion bought a second one.
Using his exceptional camouflage ability, Zacharias allowed himself to hang upside down from the tree branch he'd been sitting on. He knew he'd look foolish if anyone saw him, but they wouldn't. He had a private moment all to himself, so there was no reason he couldn't indulge in a little guilty pleasure, right?

A loud rattling could be heard in the bushes around the trees as branches were snapped and leaves ripped to shreds as a small streak of black darted through followed closely by a snarling larger black and red one. The little black streak, a little black squirrel, dashed to the left in a sudden turn an scampered up the closet tree while the larger streak skitted and back tracked trying to figure out where the squirrel had gone. Hissing furiously as she located the Squirrel up the tree Ciera raced to the bottom glaring up at him. Feeling reasonably safe several branches from the ground the squirrel paused and looked down chittering anxiously back at the hissing wishling.

Twitching his ears, Zacharias' eyes when from the squirrel, to the wish, and back again. Deciding now might not be the best time to been seen (or crawled, upon) in a compromising situation, he sat up and rearranged himself like a leopard in a tree.
It would be impolite to watch a lady unawares, even if she was in a public grove. Zacharias quickly pulled a Cheshire, shaking his fur down in one ripple to 'turn off' his ability. He coughed politely to announce his presence.

Ciera whirled around glaring as she heard a quiet couching sounding from one of the nearby branches. Finding that there was suddenly a very strange looking wish sitting on the branch she backed up a few steps in surprise. Not really one to enjoy sudden surprises, her shock state quickly turned to one of annoyance and she glared up for a moment before jumping gracefully to one of the lower branches where she perched, tail twitching in anticipation. The muscles bunching in her hind legs was the only hint of movement before she launched herself up to the branch where he sat. As she straightened up there was a muffled chittering sound coming from beneath her paws and a black tail swished furiously through the air next to them.
She lifted one paw after several seconds and the ruffled little head of the squirrel was visible, its dark eyes glaring furiously at Ciera before darting over to the red and orange colored Wishling. “Are you going to try to eat us?” he asked in a squeaky little voice.

Zacharias was feeling a bit... cramped. Not that he believed the silly 'fairy-tales' about those of the dark-blooded race, but she did seem rather imposing. The familiar's unease actually made him feel a bit more secure. If they were afraid that he'd eat them, then, surely the reverse hadn't occurred to them?
"Why, certainly not!" Zacharias assured them, "I'm not in the habit of feeding on perfectly innocent park-goers. I'm no werewolf." He sat up, "My name is Zacharias, by the by. May I ask yours?"
