Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Department of Advertisement. Our goal is simple:
Recruit New Members and Bring in New Missions
They are waiting.
We will find them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Accomplishing this goal is both very easy, and very difficult. While it can be very easy to simply get members, it can be difficult to get them to stay. As well, bringing in clients can be difficult, if the approach is fouled up in the least.Recruit New Members and Bring in New Missions
They are waiting.
We will find them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, we must first decide on HOW. How will we recruit the best members? What can make them stick around? How do we approach clients? What do they want to hear?
Recruiting
To recruit new members, we need to present all the facts about us in a way that appeals to them. Generally, we're appealing to Roleplayers. What do they do? Roleplay. What do we do? Roleplay for Gold. Keyword: Gold. Everybody loves Gold. And we get paid to do what they love. Connect the dots, and we can get them roleplaying for gold within our ranks. The key is to do it right. There are a number of ways you can approach the situation. Pms, Posting, Comments. One post, many posts, just a few posts. Immediate action or Delayed, possibly more effective. There are plenty of options available to you, and I'll be sure to provide plenty of Example posts for your Copy/Paste use.
Our best targets, Roleplayers, will be best found in two types of threads: Normal RP's, and "Looking for an RP" threads. In the case of the Former, you'll want to look through the individual posts for the best RPers. Look for Skill, literacy, and the ability to fit into their role. When/if you find someone who scores well in those three categories, send them a PM. In the case of the "Looking For an RP" thread-makers, you'll want to post in their thread, saying you have, not an RP for them to join, but a place where they can take their pick or RP's and get Paid for doing them.
Again, I'll have some skeletons up for you relatively soon.
Missions
Missions are a Vital part of the Mercenary Lifestyle. If we have no missions, then we're not exactly very good Mercenaries. So, we need to be almost constantly seeking out Clients with new missions.
Our clients are people who need Help. They need help with their Roleplays. They need help on zOMG. They need help with their Guild. They need help with their Profile. They need help with Anything you can think of. And we provide it. That's our job.
But we need to be able to convince them that they need us, and that we're worth the couple thousand gold they'll be shelling out for us. We do this by accentuating our best qualities. We provide Excellent Service. We are Very organized. We're relatively Cheap. We can work well as Teams. There are a number of reasons they may want to Hire us, and we need to lay out ALL of them.
The Following is a list of those who are Members of the Department of Advertising, preceded by a description of all listed Professions.
The Leadership Council is responsible for the Running of the Department. It is comprised of the Chairman and Vice-Chair, as well as the leaders of all of the professions.
The Chairman and Vice-Chairman are Essentially Top Dogs. They hold authority over the others, bypassing rank in matters of the department.
The Artists are responsible for providing useful visuals (Or perhaps, audio?) to promote the league. Must be fairly skilled artists. Any artistic medium is fine, as long as it gets the job done.
The Lone-Wolf Advertisers are advertisers who work independently, recruiting members and spreading the word about the league. Must show skill with words, and the ability to answer difficult questions on the spot.
The Tag-Team Advertisers are a new innovation: Two members who are capable of providing support for each other while simultaneously advertising. Must show restraint and the ability to keep from overloading the customer/recruit.
The Towns/zOMG Specialists are exactly that: advertisers who specialize in recruiting through Towns and zOMG. Must be quick on the keyboard, know information well enough to bring it up quickly, and have an internet connection strong enough to keep from lagging on Towns and zOMG.
The Mission Primes Are those who search for missions. They are responsible for everything from finding and approaching the client, to assisting them in filling out the mission application form, at which point the DWM takes over. They can work in any area of Gaia. Must know by heart all rules pertaining to missions, both in the GML, and on Gaia in general. Also requires skill with words.
