spaceI think it would be a good thing to have a Prayer Requets Sticky. This might eventually turn into a subforum, but for now it'll be a sticky. If there is anything that you would like us to pray about, go ahead and post it.
spaceI'll start the ball rolling. My girlfriend isn't a christian. I got her kind of interested in it for a little bit, though. I brought her to church once, but her parents won't let her go again. I gave her a bible for her birthday too (along with a switchfoot cd). I gave her the Message version, the one that's in contemporary language so it's easier for teens to understand. Well I encouraged her to read it, and I thought things were going pretty well. She said that she was reading parts of it and stuff. But one day, she told me she saw some things in there that she didn't like; stuff that apparantly degrades women or something, along with some other stuff she didn't like. She tried to keep reading, but she kept finding stuff she didn't agree with, so she gave it up. I realize now that I should have been there with her when she was reading it - so I could explain it to her better, but now it's too late. I want you guys to pray that she finds God and Jesus for who they truly are, and that God would help her see the narrow path and help her realize the truth. She's an awesome person, but she would be even better if she was christian. biggrin

Its true that the bible is degrading to woman but that could be because of any number of reason. I will make sure to pray for her 3nodding
My prayer request is for my friend. She found out that she's been pregnant for the past two months and she is going to keep the baby. I would like for people to pray that she will have a healthy baby and nothing will go wrong during the pregnancy. Oh, and praying for it to be a girl would be great too wink

Hay you guys, I'm new to your guild, I think it's really cool. I was wondering if you could pray for my boy friend, he's not a christian eather and I really am not sure the reason I'm going out with him it's just I'm the type of person that I always feel really bad if I'm not nice sad but I know that it would be hard to convert him to be a christian because he would be doing it for me and not for god, so just prey that he would find a solution thanks smile

well where to start
I would like prayer for my uncle because he broke his hip by falling on cement steps and now he needs surgery. my cusin has a tumor in his head that the doctors say is not cancerous yet I would like the tumor to stay like that. And lastly another cusin has a japaneese diease that 1 in 100,000 children get called kawisaki disease that is deadly.

I will pray for everyone you guys are asking for smile but seriously to you guys who want you significant others to convert, I say let them take thier time and don't rush them but continue to set a good example by going to church every sunday and not participateing in activities that drive away the spirit.
The person I would like you all to pray for is a woman at my mother and I's work.We work at a nursing home and there is a woman there who is always afraid, even though we all try to make her feel as safe and comfortable as possible. Just please keep her in your prayers that she might feel safe, and that god and jesus are with her. 3nodding

Oh, and praying for it to be a girl would be great too wink In a lot of ways god exalts women as well. See Deborah, Miriam, Esther, and even women in Jesus' time. Many were exalted, and Deborah was considered one of the most godly judges out of them all. To me that seems like a good deal. You just have to understand that people of that day lived in a society where women had no rights, so therefor the Bible was worded like it was, but nowhere in the Bible does it say anything offensive to anyone. It is not biased to Sex, race, Jews, Gentiles, none of those things change the ideals born within.

God places us in many situations, not intended to make us stumble, but uses the devil's schemes to test us. So it's possible that he wants you to be more assertive, or learn more. Maybe he wants you to seek more Christian friends. All I know is whether it's him or another, God has a partner for you.

I'll keep all of these situations in prayer.
Also could you guys pray for me? My life seems to be all but forgotten by God at times. I have trouble in just about every aspect. Sometimes I'm hungry and there's nothing to eat, other times I can't concentrate and I don't do as well in school. My dad is an alcoholic and fights with my stepmom every day. I just broke up with my girlfriend and she started spreading lies about me, and calling me to insult me and brag about her new boyfriend. My stepdad is really weird and I'm almost scared for my Mom, not that I get to go over there, because my dad doesn't like my stepdad. My friends all lie about me, make fun of me and never stick up for me. They're 'Christians' but that's only because they go to a Christian school, and they don't respect my fervor for God. It's not causing me to doubt really, but I'm starting to lose hope, and it's hard to remember God's joy that surpasses everything. It's hard to hold on to what I know is right and wrong.
