Welcome to the second part of the Barely Knowns Poetry Slam!
In the first half, BKers were persuaded to submit their best poetic works to be judged by the BK population. Let me tell you, ladies and gentlemen, this contest was not for the weak of imagination!
Eight poems have been selected from eight different users. It is up to you to vote who wrote the best poem!
But the contest doesn't end there.
Once the voting deadline has come, WHICH, BY THE WAY, IS DECEMBER 5TH, the two poets who got the top votes for their pieces will have to endure one of the most brutal trials of all time:
That's right, in the third and final part of this contest, there'll be an IMPROV POETRY SLAM BETWEEN THE TWO FINALISTS!
Which leads me to what you can post in this thread. Other than voting and posting who you voted for (or be a fan for them, either way), for anyone who is interested in becoming part of the voting panel for Part 3 of the competition should post why they should be selected to judge. All the work done by a finalist(both should be online at the same time) will receive a score of 1-10 from each panelist. After three rounds, whoever has the highest average BECOMES THE POET LAUREATE!
LET'S DO THIS THING!

The Poems
The Doom of General Discussion by Kelti
The GD was once a home to many of us; To us Gaians, we laughed and cussed. Until one day, the trolls invaded; Spammed our forum, had a parade.
The mods did little, for they were never on; But some joined the flamers, and in moments their modship was gone. The regs tried helping out, but unsuccessful they were; To try and get their GD back, but did they? No, sir!
Within months the spam got so bad; The regs couldn't take it anymore; they were more than mad. So fleeing they did! To never return; But watch the GD, like Gambino's Mansion, helplessly burn.
Eventually, when the ashes died down; Some regs came back, with their lips in a frown To see their GD, no longer glorious with glee; Because the trolls, spammers, n00bs, made them see
That it wasn't just the trolls that made GD worse But the regs themselves, made the GD cursed. Now they found, after the war they fought The GD is now nothing but naught.
Never again, will the GD be gold But a shameful place, only entered by the belligerent bold. The GD is done, gone, never the same Which is why, my friends, we never again speak its name.
I Remember by Ribbish
I remember the times Both the good and the bad I remember the fun That we both had I remember the tears You cried when you were sad I remember my arms around you When you felt so bad
I remember you told me About your troubles and your past I remember when you told me You'd found the perfect guy at last I remember the moment You said he broke your heart I remember you said He left you in the dark
I remember I was there With tape in my hand I remember it was your heart That I began to mend I remember taking away All of your pain I remember I sat with you That night in the rain
I remember my jacket Wrapped around you in the cold I remember I realized then I'd never have you to hold I remember I showed you What you needed to see But I have a Question Do you Remember me?
A Barely Known Sonnet by Spatterdash
Barely known, new and confused, wandering lone I had no friends, no gold, no fishing skills The n00bs in the GD made me feel ill What could I do but grumble and moan So idly across the world map I'd roam Searching for items my inventory to fill Desperately wasting the time I had to kill Then came a Guild invite - to the Barely Knowns
I read the description, it pleased my mind Finally a place for people just like me So glad I'd been thought worthy to come inside Thanks for the invite, mysterious Reeves For here are great people, smart, literate and kind Overlooked but beautiful like autumn leaves
Untitled by Siani
Childhood is the kingdom where there is no heartbreak. No one will take your hand and Then let you fall, leaving you to nurse your scrapes and bruises. No one will take your heart for a little while only to cast it aside later, leaving you to scramble around on your hands and knees to try to find it again in the dark. No one will tell you to jump unless there is someone there to catch you. No one will tell you to go and play only so that they can tell you later that you did it wrong- to play a different way and No one will break your heart in an attempt to mend their own because Childhood is the Kingdom where there is no heartbreak.
Untitled by Lyzz the Dark Beast
It's as if the thought of sleep Has pulled me in so deep. So now I close my eyes so tight, Wishing, wishing, every night.
If you see me, if you don't, Long to see you, wish I won't. Sleepy eyes so drear and gray, Tries to push the pain away.
Sleeping silent, sleeping sound, On the door no-one will pound. Late is early, night is day, You can't wish the sun away.
Wish I may, wish I might. I will lock this pain up tight. If I see you, if I don't, Help your day, wishing won't.
If you're here, If you're there, Wishing won?t help anywhere. Lively eyes so bright and blue, Not to wish they have no clue.
So go to sleep, Don't count your sheep. Lay here now it's that shameful gray, Don't you wish this pain away.
Ways of Rhythm by Reeves
I found a boy the other day, sitting on the docks He had his journal at his side, kept with fourteen locks Eyes set on the ocean His body gave no motion But he sang a melody with rhythm on the rocks
I tried to learn the awkward notes, but nothing could compare His voice was monstrous in his youth but fragile in his care Caught in lines that glistened For the one who listened He was finding conscience and the rhythm in the air
And the rhythm moved on To somebody else's song
I walked home in the bitter sun and sat down at my desk I wrote a song of mischief and I sang it at my best And the air was silent No wind growing violent The boy had woke the rhythm, and I had put it to rest
Later it would move on To somebody else's song
Take A Step Closer by Meacorme
Take a step closer and don't look behind at the ribbons of light tangling, intertwining in dazzling braids
Immerse yourself in the black that sinks deeper into the ground by gravity's pleading hold Please don't go
I will find you in the darkness where you sit and watch for nothing something everything
Farewell by Lord Narcissus
Look what you've done now.
Yes, you.
There's no one left to blame.
Just lead in your belly
And copper in your mouth.
Face it.
You slipped up.
But you already knew that.
And so did they.
Lying by your side now, they know it.
But you still feel it.
Cutting the numbness with pain.
So you're going to die
Yeah.
Alone, leaving your own stain on the contorted and twisted landscape.
Your personal mark completing the mosaic of lost souls.
And yet, you've left nothing else.
You feel that?
The regret?
"If only..."
Scraping at the back of your skull like a trapped animal.
Trying to escape the dying shell.
You don't want to die.
Not like this.
Just a gun with a rank.
A dog of your country.
Paying the price of patriotism.
Paying in full.
The Reaper's come to collect.
A price you have the means to pay.
But it's still going to cost you.
So farewell, lonely soldier.
Dream sweet dreams of freedom.
Farewell.

I wish I had some mules in this guild.
Or mules in general.
Seeing how I bet Ribbish will use that to his advantage.
-__^;;
Oh, and I'm predicting Lyzz and Reeves as the winners.
^^
Just a guess.
Because Reeves is too good.
And Lyzz's was freaking awesome!
[Edit] Oh yeah...
And erm... vote... Narcissus... yeah.
