Hi, just thought I'd contribute with a description of a possible room (lobby) Perhaps we could have things like this at the beginning of every location sub-forum/sticky? ------------------------ The swinging doors behind you emit a long, howling wail. They're old, you tell yourself, they just squeak a lot. You feel a cold chill come over you as you step further into the abandoned lobby, your face now dripping with cold sweat. The once bright carpet is now a dark, dusty crimson, the colour of blo- Calm down, you tell yourself. Now you're just scaring yourself You hear a sound in the roof above you. A rat or a bird, more than likely. Or not? The dust on the counter lies like a sheet, and you sneeze as you lean in to look. What was that? You spin around quickly. There was something just behind you, you're sure of it. Suddenly, you're not so comfortable in the old, derelict theatre.

That is really cool... I love the mood. I think Miss is probably going to be in charge of room descriptions, but I'm sure she could use you. Especially if we have a point in the event where the power goes out and need to move everything from "campy party" to a creepy old theater.

Good, that means I'm doing my job right. Wickit, what we need is a solid list of what rooms we are going to have for sure. Perhaps one list for rooms we'll for sure have at the start of the party, and a separate list for rooms that will be "discovered" throughout the party. An idea of how the theater is laid out would help too. Once we have that we can start setting up the rooms.

Starr is in one of the dressing rooms, feeling confident and excited for her next performance, she hums along
"Five Minutes to show time, Starr!" "Thanks, Rascal!"
Suddenly, the lights turn off. She does not fret because it has happened before. Too bad this time, it took longer.
"Rascal! The lights are out again!"
No response
"Rascal!"
Nothing
"Ugh! Must the star always do everythi--AAAHHH!"
The mirror glows an ominous red and a haunting face is in the mirror. It's a dead, older version of Rascal
"...Leave me here to die..." It says
"RASCAL!"
Sinch! Her head gets chopped off.
"I don't know. I suck at writing horror Roleplays... xp

Well let's see... Vision wise I want this place to be huge, it used to be the greatest theater around after all.
I know that I want the first room to be a ticket area. I don't know how many old theaters you've been to, but it's often a smaller, wide area that has ticket booths on either side and tables with staff pointing you where you need to go, handing out playbooks and keeping things running. We'll probably have decked it out with pumpkins, hay stacks and posters of the various acts.
From there you have the entrance hall (we should talk to Qwake for room translations). That will be the huge area with multiple entrances to the theater itself (stair ways and all). It's where a lot of the party and gathering would happen. Chandaliers, grand piano, elegant stair cases leading to the various seating, the works. Of course it'll be on the spookier side, but these first areas will be more campy than creepy while the party is going (after the party... well that's a different story)
The theater itself is cozy, but still pretty large. It has the upper balconies for the nobles on the sides (the kind that seat about six), a large balcony for general seating, the "ground level" seating and all of that. It'll have a decent sized trench in front of the stage so that the band can play out of sight, the main fixture of that trench being a pipe organ. The pipes are massive, shooting up either side of the stage frame along the wall. As far as decoration goes it'll have the huge dome light on the ceiling with a grand mosiac around it. The walls will have statues and curtains, the walls themselves are carved. Since it's pretty old it's designed for candle light, but has since had electricity installed.
Other public areas include the West Wing (an expansion onto the theater that has been remodled as a sort of hotel for guests) with the Kitchens (you can put those where ever you want) which you enter from the Entrance Hall.
Hope that's enough for now, I'll come up with more soon.

I just though of an old theatre in the city I go to sometimes. You know what'd be awesome? A curator followed around by a cat. A really creepy cat.

Funny you should mention that. *just so happens to be a curator* Though, I tend to be followed around by a wee kelpie rather than a cat.
And that sounds wonderful, Wickit. I'll get to work on the Ticketing Area and entrance hall (or in other words, Lobby?) threads, if that's alright. Once we have a more solid list of what areas we want, I'll work on those as well.
Fifty-eight (that's what I'm going to call you, 586638, if you don't mind), you seem to be better at writing the first-person accounts, impressions, and emotions better than I. Personally I focus on description and overall atmosphere, so if I were to write the descriptions perhaps you could do a little bit incorporating how a person might feel or what they might experience when entering the room. Sound good?
