Making a new thread specifically about petitions!
They're a little bit of a mess and there's a new thread in kroo about how we can refine the details on petition rules.
here's the bulk -
1. What posts are allowed in petitions?
many people feel that posts that aren't signing are bad, or posts that aren't for it are bad - maybe it would be constructive to have a separate discussion thread?
2. on that note, an announcement or sticky for petitions where they're outlined and their status/stage is updated. could be the discussion thread?
3. exactly what can be petitioned. should minor rule changes be? should stickies be? should game changes be? should events be? where is the line?
4. should add in a note somewhere that kroo will lock or move or delete a petition thread if someone wants to make a new thread for their petition, but maybe should make a rule against editing your petition in the same thread because it makes keeping track of votes confusing.

1. What posts are allowed in petitions?
Signatures, Support, and opposing comments. Harassment or more extreme forms of opposition are highly frowned upon. ie "you are all babies".
2. on that note, an announcement or sticky for petitions where they're outlined and their status/stage is updated. could be the discussion thread?
This sounds fine to me, just it means something else for Kroo to manage. It's up in the air on that aspect, but otherwise sounds informative.
3. exactly what can be petitioned. should minor rule changes be? should stickies be? should game changes be? should events be? where is the line?
Anything beyond moderation sounds like the start for petitions. If you're going to petition for a game change, I think instead of a guild vote, that area falls into the current GM's jurisdiction as to whether to follow the petition or not. Events do not need petitions. Events are a rarity as is and I doubt the guild will say "no event please".
I'm not sure what kind of things would need a petition to sticky. I think a formal request is more likely to be a smart thing than petitioning.
The line ends at unreasonable things like "Petitioning to ban/warn [ user ]" or things that otherwise violate ToS. While this should be common sense, I'm sure we'll find SOMETHING at a later point in time that will fall under "You can't petition for that."
4. should add in a note somewhere that kroo will lock or move or delete a petition thread if someone wants to make a new thread for their petition, but maybe should make a rule against editing your petition in the same thread because it makes keeping track of votes confusing.
I think Kroo should also notify a user on moving or editing their thread. Posting if editing or some line like "Edited by -----: [ reason ]", and a PM if deleted or moved to the Recycle bin. If moved to another forum OTHER than the recycle bin, a simple post will work.

Discussion about a petition should stay in that petition's thread. As long as it isn't heated argument or flaming, it makes sense. It's not like there's such a huge volume of posts that discussion is likely to make it harder to count signatures.
On the subject of game changes, I was under the impression that all game mechanics were decided upon by that game's GM during the application process. Is there any reason for that to change at all?

we should be pming about moves shoy. you are totally right about that and it is a kroo error if it doesn't happen.
by game changes I mean big ones changing more than just a unique game.
