Gargoyles
((This is set in New York City, inspired by Gargoyles: The Animated Series. Howver, this roleplay will involve Gargoyles completely made up. Such characters can be inspired by the series, but I'd like everyone to be original............this is also my first story that doesnt have a exact plot it will be made up as it grows...so its best to join early.))
*** One thousand years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness, it was a world of fear, it was the age of Gargoyles. Stone by day, warriors by night, we were betrayed by the humans we had sworn to protect, frozen in stone by a magic spell for a thousand years. Now, here in Manhattan, the spell is broken and we live again! We are defenders of the night, we are Gargoyles! ***
A thousand years ago, Humans and Gargoyles lived with one another. Gargoyles protected the Humans during the night, and in return, while the Gargoyles slept in stone slumber, the Humans protected them. However, a betrayel occured at Castle Wyvern, where a proud and strong Gargoyle clan lived in harmony. The betrayel led to the destruction of the castle and the deaths of most of the clan. By luck, a small remainder were put under a magic spell by the Magus, a loyal servant of Princess Katharine who ruled Castle Wyvern.
The spell put the remaining Gargoyles under a deep sleep, where they remained slumbering in stone for a thousand years. Then, Michael Cunningham came into the picture. He is a shrewd businessman, founder and CEO of Marshall Industries, a company which has branches stemming from Biological and Medical Research to Industrial Design to Commerical Marketing. But Cunningham had always been a rather fanatical fan of superstitious and magical artifacts, and when rumor of the Gargoyle myth came to him, he was intent on bringing them back. True to the myth, the castle rose above the sky, and the spell was broken.
Life was relatively normal in New York City, where monsters were simply alive in the imagination of children and horror flicks of the cinema. But it was not always to remain so. Now the Gargoyles have awaken, and so our tale begins.
