Appearance: Bethany is 5'4" tall, and has shoulder length fiery red hair and brown eyes. Her skin tone is very fair, and almost ivory looking. It has been said that Beth has a simple grace to her appearance as she has never tried to make herself look more impressive with the coloured mineral powders that many of the other women her age seem to favour.

During the plague Bethany took to wearing her hair plaited back, to keep it out of her face while she was repairing cots and sleeping furs for the infirmary. Now she wears her hair back for convenience, since it only has to be done once every few days.

She is now frequently seen with slight dark circles under her eyes from the adjustment and lack of sleep from recently having a child.

Personality:Beth is a hard worker, who prefers to be in the background than in the midst of all the action. Some people say this she is fairly quiet, but that's only because they have interrupted her while she was making outfits or repairing riding clothes and harnesses. By several other people, Beth is known to have a great sense of humour and a talent for making even the most roughed skinned person break into a smile occasionally.

Bethany is the type of person who never says no, because she prefers to be on the good side of everyone. This caused her problems both at Fort, and at Telgar. Because of her willingness, Bethany often takes on too many jobs at once which makes her seem disorganized at times.

She is generally a happy person, and that seemed to increase with the birth of her first child, Bechant.



History: Beth was born at Fort Weyr, and was fostered with several of their current riders and some of their older weyrlings. As a child she did not show interest in impressing a dragon like many of the other children and much preferred to sit and talk with the seamstress learning about creating clothing. The seamstress took notice in Beth's interest and her work, and started giving her private lessons. Shortly Beth was as adept at her mentor in repairing clothes and making new outfits.

After a few years the young seamstress heard that the Telgar seamstress was retiring to the Southern continent. She talked to her Weyrleader, and got permission to move to Telgar to become their replacement seamstress. Beth packed up her most precious possessions, and travelled with a friendly blue dragon rider to her new home.

Shortly after transferring to Telgar, Bethany met X'ech with whom had a short but unattached relationship. During this short period she became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy whom she named Bechant.

It was during the plague that swept through Pern, Bethany found out she was pregnant. She did become mildly ill during the plague, and luckily for her and her son, she suffered no side-affects like many of the others.

Also, during the illness and pregnancy Bethany kept up her work as seamstress.
