It's so pathetic, they just introduced him as a new something or another in the cash shop and now he's a new 'character' for them to make more money off of. -_-; It doesn't make any sense. He looks like he's a total pansy. Like if you messed up his make up or damaged some of his long hair, he'd burst into tears! "Oh no, now I can't model this shitty fallen angel get up any more!" -_- How far must gaia go with this crap?!
... The art was nice, but ultimately the idea behind it was poor. Like a glorified Halloween costume idea...

As someone who have studied devil/Lucifer/Satan (yes, there's a difference between the characters) I have to say... eh. He isn't complete fail, even if he looks slightly more sappy then 19th century romantics started to pretty Lucifer up. I'll quote: "A beautiful naked young man with small crimson wings and fragrant pink clouds surrounding him..."
It's written by a young man by the way, although it looks like something a 14 year old girl could imagine *gigglesnort*
Lucifer is always a sappy picture of the devil. I mean, he's an angel kicked out - how cold he not be all sappy? They should have gone for Baal or someone like that (a foreign god that got remodelled into a devil) or Satan (who actually worked for God with the heavenly juridical matter in the beginning, testing if the believes were real believers or if they should be kicked into hell).
Off Topic: I support Satan. Everyone is bullying him on completely unfair basis. He was just doing his job but mean people turned him into a bad guy so that Jesus would look like an ancient Superman D: (will I be sent to hell for writing this? And if so, will I get special treatment for kissing up like this?)

No hell for you!
Anyway, If he was supposed to be Satan/Lucifer/the devil, then I would applaud.
But he's just some guy named Azrael. A fallen angel, in the sense that people love to roleplay as fallen angels, ignoring the religious meaning behind it. I highly doubt he's meant to personify Satan/Lucifer. It's much more likely here's there to excite the little children into buying his funbox.
But if gaia were to do something so deep as do bring in a serious Satan/Lucifer, I would applaud them.
I would also have applauded if they'd named this guy Satin.

Who is connected to fertilization. As in sex etc. So the pope decided to make the 'evil' one.

They stole the image. Idea came from the religion. The image of God was inspired by Zeus, I believe. The Christians didn't steal the devil, they merely gave him an image based on the roman mythology many of them had come from.
And crucifix, she's a literary student. I think. Ever hear of Paradise Lost? My guess is that she has.

Sorry if I offended anyone. I just like debating this sort of stuff that's all.

Satan was one of God's angels, and he was handsome and powerful. He started to think that he was better than God and that he should rule everything. God then banished him and his followers from heaven onto earth. Satan is sometimes considered the king of the earth. Satan also lost his handsomeness. God is the king of everything. Including Satan. Satan knows that he will have to spend eternity suffering in hell with his followers, so he tries to get as many people as possible to suffer with him.
This dude is probably based off of one of Satan's followers, or demons.
I just get sorta touchy on this subject. >_<

Azrael is based off what Gaia's artists thought would make all the little children on gaia think "OMG THAT PICCY IS SO PRETTY/HARDCORR I SHULD TOTALLY BUY THE THINGY".
The picture has absolutely no poetic or religious background, although I wish it did.
