With the discovery of the glow timer, I'm grabbing differently now. Here it is, if you haven't seen it. http://absol.site88.net/gtools/glowTime.phpI find I don't rely on booty threads as much since I can simply go to the aquarium forum to see whose glow threads are bumped at the moment. That saves a lot of time flipping through booty grab threads that are sometimes a hundred pages long! Plus, since I now know when and how much I'll glow, I'm not as worried about posting everywhere so the maximum amount of people will see me if I glow, because I can bump myself now (not that I still don't love invites). Do you use the glowtimer? How has it changed the way you grab? Do you think Booty Threads are now dead? Do you worry it might be banned? Tell me what you think.

I mainly use the timer to track when my tank glows, and sometimes the tanks of some of my friends. I'll bump my thread when I start glowing, and I'll grab and bump my friends' tanks when they do.
Beyond that, I go back to my booty threads, mostly because I'm lazy, but also to support them since my tank pops up in a few of those threads, too xD
But this has helped me answer a few questions I'd had about the timer, as well. That being, wondering if people even cared that I bumped my thread when I did glow, among others xD
Also, I have the feeling that not everyone knows about the timer, or that it matters very much to them. It might take the more casual booty grabbers out there weeks or months yet to figure out that there's a timer at all.
I think, like most innovations, this will affect some people and their habits, but not everyone. Booty threads will still have a place, although there may be a bit of a decrease in their popularity.
I'm not worried that the timer will be banned, as such. I don't see a reason why it would be, on a practical level. It helps a lot of people maximise the amount of money they make, which in turns helps more people make money from their tanks.

Reading this thread is the first I've heard of the timer. I clicked the link but I have no idea how it works. Those aren't my fish so how would I get it to look at the timing for my fish or someone else? I was just using my mule and the approximate time I knew I was glowing last time. I use my mule to bump my thread until I stop glowing or about halfway through I'll switch to this account and go booty grab others. I'll post my scores and hope others will see my glowing tank.
Personally, I hate the glow threads that have only one tank on the front page. True, it's your thread. But sometimes your tank is full or has just stopped glowing. Why not allow others who originally bumped your thread get some booty grabbing too?
I don't think the timer will be banned or even change booty grabbing threads that much. wink

I have 3 bookmarks in my browser which leads directly to the 3 tanks I keep an eye on on the Tank Analyzer. I use the Analyzer to keep track of my glows, how many people have played my tank which helps me decide if I should bump my glow thread or not, how much gold per glow, which fish have glowed or are glowing next, and when to expect to replace fish in my tank. It all kind of confuses me realy, but then again, I just learned about it yesterday. I see the value of knowing when your fish are going to keel over, but other than that, I'm confused on how it all works...

It looks a little too confusing for me. eek Then again, I'm new to Gaia and the Aquarium's themselves are a little confusing. I just know I love to play Booty Grab. xD

It doesn't matter to me -- I am not going to re-arrange my schedule to grab a few more coins -- this is fun time for me, not a time table of work...

hmm..I see what the timer does..though I won't know what else to do with it except to see how long until my fish keel over...
I'm not going to change the way I grab, although I have been looking in the forum again..
