Woah, haven't been here in a while. Anyways, I'm surprised and a bit disappointed that a topic about this hasn't been made yet. So yeah, you might have heard about the Konami Rebirth series where they have already done Contra and Gradius. Now they are doing a remake sort of thing for CV The Adventure, the first gameboy title with Christopher Belmont. http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=100956Here is the Castlevania Dungeon topic about it: http://castlevania.classicgaming.gamespy.com/forums/index.php?topic=2345&start=0Anyways, I'm glad they are doing this since CV Adventure was great but had a few annoying things about it. Also, this is going to be a classicvania which we haven't had in a while. I'm a little bit disappointed though since some of the graphics are reused from past Castlevania games, but then again they have done that plenty of times before. I think it looks good from the screenshots you can see in that Castlevania Dungeon topic. I also think it will be really fun, since it's going to be a classicvania. I don't own a wii though, so I probably won't be able to play it right away unless they release the ReBirth series on both the Playstation and Xbox networks. It's going to be released this month on the 27th in Japan which would make it exactly 20 years since the original CV Adventure was released in Japan. It will probably come here in the US right after.

So wait a sec, this is gonna be released on the Wii? I don't get it! If the original was on a portable, why not make a port of this game for Wii (and maybe the other consoles too) and release it on the DS first?
BTW, the link for the CV dungeon topic doesn't seem to work. Well, the link works fine but the page is all screwed up. cry

Oh no, I agree. I think the ReBirth series should be on all the networks. But instead it's only on the Wii network. I also think that it should be released for portable consoles as well, but it isn't. It's a ReBirth game, and all ReBirth games are for Wii. I'm hoping though that at least they will release it for all the networks or at least as a portable title. I'm not Nintendo though, so I don't make their decisions. It also might be a contract or something. And sorry about that, apparently the dungeon is down or something. I'll post some of the pictures from it: http://www.konami.jp/products/dl_wii_dracula_re_ww/images/ss_01wer.jpghttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/1415/rebirth.jpgApparently they are going to have a preview of the game on the 26th in the link I showed above in the first post. So have you guys not heard about this until now or something? I'm a huge Castlevania fan and have been since I was a little kid(and I know some of you are as well), so I guess I'm more active about finding information than others. It's a new classicvania, so that's why I was surprised that a topic about this hasn't been made. The game has been known now for a couple of months, and it's going to be released next week. Also, whatever happened to Jinzouki? I'm behind on the times.

Hey Kuro! Wassup? I know yer not on Nintendo's crew but I was hoping to see such a remake on my DS so I could buy it. Or at the very least, see it included in the DSiware so people who haven't bought one of those had one more reason to do so. I think I would actually buy a DSi if they made that possible. 3nodding Cool pics! Let's hope the game play is just as good as the one in Dracula's Curse. Cuz if it's as tough as nails as the one in Rondo or Dracula X, I won't buy/download it. Really? I can hardly wait to see that preview. However, I hadn't heard a thing about this and the Konami forums have no info either so that's why there was no thread about this. Jinzouki seems to be fine. He's just too busy with real life stuff like I was a few days ago. I just managed to come back today!

Yeah, I definitely agree because I don't own a wii and probably won't for a good while. And yeah, adding it to the DSiware would be cool as well and I would probably buy one too if they made that possible. Hopefully they will do that.
It's going to be a classicvania so I'm going to assume that the difficulty will be like all the past classic games. Like SCV4, Bloodlines, Rondo Of Blood, etc. The difficulty varies on those, so hopefully it won't be too hard.
Information about this game came out like 2 months ago. It's not a huge Konami title too since it's only a ReBirth game, so that's probably why you didn't see anything on the forums. I visit some Castlevania sites and forums and that's how I found out about this.
Yeah, I just came back the other day as well. I haven't been active a whole lot and haven't visited this guild in a good while. I didn't see anyone posting so that's why I was curious.

Indeed! After all, the DSi is cheaper than the Wii and you could get both a DSi and a Wii points card for less than just a Wii. I don't know about you but I really want a Wii. Just the fact that some classic CV games are already on it makes me want to get one and they could sweeten the deal if they released the Saturn version of SotN on the virtual console as well. 3nodding
I hope it won't be too difficult myself cuz Dracula X was just darn impossible for me.
I suppose that's true and since I haven't really been browsing for info then it's only natural I don't know about it. Say, do you suppose they might make it so that both GB titles will be in this ReBirth? It'd be great to be buying a two in one game like they did with HoD and AoS. I actually liked Belmont's Revenge and if it's redone with those graphics then all the better, don't you think?
That's ok, we have our moments of activity here and I was a bit surprised you didn't post in other threads. You should check out the one about alternate professions, just FYI... wink

Oh no, I've posted in plenty of the threads I see up on here. I just haven't posted in them in a while since I haven't been here. And I already looked over the alternate professions thread the last time I was here, I don't remember why I didn't post in it.
I kind of want a Wii as well since there are a few games coming out on it that I want, this one included. Also, my Gamecube broke and Wii plays Gamecube games, which would be awesome.
I actually liked the difficulty of Dracula X Rondo Of Blood. I don't know if you are talking about the remake for PSP since I've never played that one. I'm talking about the original version that I played on an emulator. I think you can unlock that version as well on the PSP version.
But yeah, I'm hoping it won't be too hard.
Oh, I definitely agree. I liked Belmont's Revenge as well so hopefully they will do a ReBirth of that game. Maybe they will remake it as an ad-on for this game, but I kind of doubt that since ReBirth games are usually short. Who knows though.

Well you should post in it now cuz even Lost Realms stopped by and she liked my idea. 3nodding
Indeed! I'm just glad my game cube is still fine cuz you can't adapt the game boy player on the Wii. I couldn't believe Nintendo made the Wii with retro-compatibility, it was about freaking time if you ask me! sweatdrop
Huh! You liked the difficulty on that piece of crud? I absolutely hated it! And I've played all 3 versions of it. The original one in SNES, the PSP remake and the PSP original unlocked version and I sucked at all of them. I especially hated the 2.5D remake cuz Richter is slower than anything and I was amazed that they would do such a thing in these day and age. I mean, didn't they learn not to do that sort of thing after the first CV on GB? I've heard how Belmont's Revenge has much faster gameplay than the prequel. I guess I should thank God I never actually tried it and actually bought "BR" when I did.
Cool! I don't know why but Belmont's Revenge was great, even though it was pretty tough, it definitely wasn't impossible to beat. The only thing I had a real hard time with was Dracula. I could never figure out the pattern on my own so I had to look it up on Club Nintendo, the only mag at the time with hints and tips. 3nodding I was thinking, if ReBirth games are usually short then it would be a good idea to release both game boy titles in one so that it counts as one full game. That way newcomers can know about Chris Belmont and his full story, not just a small part of it.

I am most likely gonna end up getting the remake since it was my first Castlevania game that I played, back when I was like 5. Even though I couldn't even beat the first level at the time, and hated it. SoTN was the first that got me into the series, and then I honestly liked Castlevania 64 as well, being my third game in the series.
As for the little Rondo of Blood discussion, I thought the PSP and the original on the PC Engine were good. THey were by no means my favorite, but I liked him. The complaint I have had with Castlevania lately were the art directions for DoS and PoR, and the character's looks in Judgement. Ecclesia was alright, a major improvement over the Skeletor-like Death in PoR.

Really? Simon's Quest was my very first one and I liked it just fine cuz I hadn't played a better game at the time. I can't believe how I didn't complain much about the invisible pit traps, the stupid day/night message and other stuff that were very annoying.
Well, at least you were able to play the very original in the PC engine. Most of us here agree about the art in Dos & PoR but I didn't mind much when it came to PoR cuz the characters were new. Well, most of them anyway. I had never seen Eric Lecarde's looks before that game as I have never played Bloodlines (at least I've seen game play videos of it by now). Ha-ha! That's great but you forgot one thing, it's a Samurai Skeletor look! Ha-ha-ha! rofl At least I liked that look better than Dracula's female opossum look in Judgment.

I wonder why not many of our members haven't posted about this. I mean, I know a lot of our members are too young to have even heard of the GB games but, just the fact they could experience the first one in a whole new light should be very intriguing, don't you think? neutral

Well, I haven't visited Konami's site but it seems this game will be released on Wiiware and it won't be as cool as Super CV 4 but it kinda looks like a mix between that and the GB titles. 3nodding Wanna see a cool video of the first stage?God! I wish I could be playing this right now. mrgreen Seriously though, I hope the American version has extra stuff. It's no fair than the folks at Japan always get to have the best things. Don't you agree everyone? neutral

Yeah, I agree. I doubt the American version will get anything extra though, it will probably just be the same as the Japanese one. It might not get any extra content either. I think this is just simply a tribute to the classic Castlevania series like all the other Rebirth games are tributes. Anyways, I saw these around when they were first posted so I will share the rest of them if no one has seen them yet. Some of the videos are two parts but I just posted the first part. Here is the 2nd stage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCi-uvyubPoHere is the 3rd: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6nBtMiPRVMHere is the 4th: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNhFjHi-kY4Here is the 5th: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxArzb7tjjUFinal battle with Dracula and Credits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SFl5fYRYJcIn the credits you can see that the producer is Koji Igarashi. The game looks pretty sweet. The only gripe I really have is all the reused graphics from previous CV games. I hope it comes to America soon, though I guess it still really wouldn't matter to me since I don't have a Wii.

So you doubt the American release will be any different? If that's the case, then it's gonna blow a little bit but at least anybody with online access will be able to get it. Well, that and a Wii points card. Those cards are available here in my country so I'm gonna get a Wii next year for sure. 3nodding BTW, do you know what those glowing pillars are about? The hero seems to whip them (in the first video I saw) and nothing seems to change! There is one that has a red light right to the left of the hero right when the video begins (well, the second stage video anyway). I don't know what to think about the re-used graphs as you say but since the castle is a creature of chaos, doesn't it make sense that it could be reborn with similar parts of itself?
I'll come back to see the videos one at a time. I'll come back and post about my thoughts on them later on. biggrin
