Gaia Name: Anna Lux
RPC Name: Ebony Taylor
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Human/Altered: Altered
Powers/Abilities: Ebony's powers so far seem very minor. She is always quiet when she moves, and her senses are more fine-tuned, though she is only as strong as an average human of her age and size.
Personality: Ebony is caring and quiet. Sh doesn't care what people call her and regularly goes by both her first and last names. She has taken a special interest in the case of a shape shifting altered named Isrich, who can change into a werewolf like creature. She cares for him like a younger brother, due to his special state of mind.
Weapons: A long metal staff, one end has a slight point, but not enough to be called a spear. She also uses it as a walking stick
Bio: Though she was born inside the Institute they never had much use for her. The Institute scientists were looking for stronger powers and beings to train and generally mess with, so Ebony almost always sat under the radar. Several escape attempts landed her in solitary confinement, and eventually, in an attempt to quietly kill her they threw her into a cell with what was believed to be one of the worst cases inside the Institute's main building. A strange mutation had taken the mind of one man and changed him into a monster. To feed him they would toss in unruly Altered. As Ebony was thrown into the dark room and the door slammed shut behind her she strained her ears, listening for any sound... There was almost nothing. Almost. However, in one corner there was a deep ragged breathing, that bordered on a growl. Ebony remained silent as she moved along the wall. The stench in the room was overwhelming and she was extremely glad that she couldn't see the ground, as she didn't want to know what she may be walking through. Her sense of smell was obliterated by the smell of decaying flesh, sweat, urine, and feces. After moving away from where she had first been thrown in she sat and listened. Something crashed into the doorway with a loud bang and she heard the angry howl from the creature as it scrapped at what it had thought would be prey. Ebony shivered but remained silent. Time crept by slowly and the creature grew more silent as the hours drifted by... And it was after what she would have guessed to be around seven hours that a new sound reached Ebony's ears. A low, desperate, agonized sobbing. It sounded human. Not wanting to fall into a trap she still remained silent. More time passed. Eventually she heard the door open and a flash of light showed another Altered being shoved into the cell. This one didn't have any time at all. A howl, louder than the ones she had heard before resonated around the cell. Ebony covered her ears quickly, but it couldn't shut all the sound away from her sensitive ears. Screaming, ripping, crunching, squishing, slurping, and more growls rang around her. More hours passed still. Her senses got even sharper in the room... And then, after what she assumed was a week, measured by what she assumed was the daily Altered thrown in, a week of near starvation and tentative sips of stale water from a bucket in one corner Ebony made her move. Everyday at some point, whatever the creature was changed into what Ebony assumed was a human. She heard him crying at almost the same day every day. And so she moved towards the sound until she knew she was right next to the creature. Reaching out a shaking hand she felt for him. Her hands met a tangle of messy, wet, matted hair. Before she could rethink the move she pet the creatures head, running her hand over it's disgusting tangles. She heard something scrabbling and a whimper that deepened into a growl. She wondered if her choice had been the right one. But she couldn't have lived forever in this dark cell being afraid of what lurked in the dark. Something moved towards her now, something that sounded much bigger then what had been in front of her only moments ago. She felt its hot breath against her face and could smell decay from its mouth. She tried not to cough as it growled and pushed her back. She felt claws. "Shhhh..." She whispered in a quiet soothing voice. The creature stopped trying to crush her for a moment, listening to her calming sounds before leaning in. She could both feel and hear it sniffing at her. It seemed like an eternity before the creature simply moved away, letting her up. Ebony sat up slowly and reached out a hand. Sure enough there was the creature, now a wall of course heavy, matted, fur, instead of what had before felt like hair. She pet the monster once and then moved back against the wall, which she had known was nearby. After a little bit she heard movement and then a sigh, a very human sigh, as something settled into her lap, reaching down and letting her hands explore she found it was a person, what felt like a man's face and long hair. He was laying his head in her lap. His eyes closed and she felt him shudder. A little longer and she realized he was shirtless. She figured he must lack clothes in general. This man lived like a wild beast. Still, he hadn't killed her, so she wasn't going to complain about his clothes, or lack there of. Months went by, bodies were still thrown in daily, and she still heard the sounds of carnage as her monster devoured them all, bringing her back scraps afterwards... Which Ebony eventually ate and managed to keep down. Now time didn't seem to pass at all. Ebony didn't know how long she lived in that cell, falling into a routine of caring for her companion, speaking to him quietly. She was rewarded when he started to repeat words back to her, and then eventually he even knew how to properly use those few words. He seemed to have the general mind of a child, until he transformed and was completely taken over by the animal. The only one that was safe from him was Ebony. And then, after what had to be at least a year she explained her plan to her monster, whom she had now started calling Isrich. The next day they burst through the door and into the hall when their daily Altered was to be thrown in. The light was blinding, but Ebony and Isrich were used to working blind. They made it through the hall and down a body chute that led to a pit outside. They laid low in the pit, burrowing under bodies and waiting. The pile wasn't searched, as no one thought they would be stupid enough to stay there. After two days of lying silent and still in a pile of bodies the two made their final run and climbed the wall surrounding the Institute. Ebony knew they needed to get out of the city. If they smelled anything like what she remembered her prison as smelling when she had first entered it then they wouldn't fit in around people, as the pair would look even worse then they smelled. Ebony managed so smell her way to a river outside of the city. She led Isrich to the water and the two walked upstream through the shallows. As the night grew deeper Ebony found that she could see a bit. Up ahead there appeared to be a rocky cairn. And as luck would have it there was a small cavern in it. More months passed. Ebony cleaned the two of them up, burning her old ruined clothes and bathing in the river, teaching Isrich to bathe himself as well. Through the months she gradually got used to the light again, and she finally knew what Isrich was. He shifted into a werewolf, though at random times, not always at night, and it had nothing to do with the moon. Sneaking back to the city was dangerous, but she couldn't keep running around naked, so Ebony stole clothes from clotheslines for a few nights in a row, searching for the right sizes. Eventually she was dressed properly and so was Isrich, though after he changed forms and ruined his clothes twice she taught him to remove his clothes before a change if he got the chance. With Isrich hunting, more then they needed, Ebony learned to skin and gut and cook deer on the small fires she made, introducing Isrich to cooked food. Soon enough she made herself presentable and went into town, selling extra skins and meat. With enough money she bought a small, very rundown apartment for the two to share.

Gaia Name: Anna Lux
RPC Name: Isrich ((eyes-rich))
Age: Unknown ((looks about 19-20))
Gender: Male
Human/Altered: Altered
Powers/Abilities: Shapeshifts into a werewolf.
Weapon: He uses his teeth and claws. Or nails. He fights like an animal, even in human form.
Personality: Isrich is generally docile, though he gets a bit protective of Ebony, especially in the presence of other men. He is kind and gentle and usually has a little smile of contentment on his face. When he transforms he becomes a wild animal, controllable only by Ebony, whom he treats the same way a loyal dog would treat its master.
Bio: Isrich was a test-tube baby, perhaps one of the first Altered grown from scratch. He wasn't given a name until he met Ebony later in life. When he turned seven it was quickly learned that something had effected his mind during development and he was almost impossible to control. So they locked him up in a cell, where he grew up, living for years by killing anything that came into the room. No one could even enter to give him water, which dripped into a bucket in the corner through a pipe in the ceiling. Isrich had lost most of his humanity by the time he met Ebony. The only thing that had stopped him from ripping Ebony to shreds was his being in human form at first and the curiosity of the strange sounds she was making. ((The soothing sounds.)) It quickly overcame his child's mind and he brought her into his little world within minutes. He is now unshakably loyal to her and would follow her to the ends of the earth. He followed her out of the Institute at the very least. His vocabulary is very small and he mostly used facial expressions and grunts, growls, sighs, and other animalistic sounds to express himself.
