Blackjack? Um... What is that?
A card game based moreso on skill than sheer luck. You can find it under the games tab. In the Gaia world, the game takes place at Isle de Gambino, in the Gold Mountain Casino. The goal is to get your cards as close to 21 as possible without going over.
Items You Will Need - Can be Purchased at Gold Mountain
(Well, only the tokens can be bought. The rest you should be able to learn fairly quickly)
1. Tokens
2. A wee bit of luck
3. The ability to count to 21
4. The ability to estimate probability (not as hard as it sounds)
The Basics
![User Image]()
1. You - You, sitting at the table from the dealer's POV.
2. Room Name - For those who lack a brain, this is the name of the room.
3. The Control Panel - Music: Turns the music on and off.
SFX: Turns the sound effects on and off (coins clattering, other stuff).
Quality: Toggles between High, Medium and Low Quality picture. Instructions: Gaias official blackjack instructions, extremely dated though. and Quit: to stop playing.
4. Your Cards - your cards, displayed for all the world to see. That way the whole world can watch you lose. (Kidding. Maybe.)
5. Your Stats - Displays your current Tokens, Tickets, and Winnings. Also contains the Deal Button (starts the game), Cash Winnings (exchanges your winnings for tickets), and Reset (Brings you back to the first opponent)
6. The Gaming Screen - Where you'll be looking most. Details below.
7. Your Health - Shows a bar that gets lower with your token count. Not very important. Just don't lose all your tokens (Unless their becoming tickets)
8. Your Opponent's Health - Shows how much more your opponent can take. At about 25%, they start stressing out and once it reaches 0%, they will give you a small amount of tickets and leave the table for the next dealer.
9. Your Opponent - The image serves no purpose. It's just funny to watch their reactions sometimes.
10. Your Cheat Button - Gives you the option to mess around with the cards. Not very useful though.
11. Your Options - Shows what action you can take in the round. Details explained above.
12. Your Opponent's Cards - What you're up against. Only one card is shown, so you have to guess until it's their turn.
13. Your Cards - What you have to work with. The number to the left shows your current total.
How to Play
1. Choose the amount of tokens you wish to bet (3 Max)
2. Hit 'Deal'
3. You can now choose either Hit (get another card), Double Down (Double your bet and get another card), or Stand (Let the dealer go). Your choice should depend on the cards you were dealt
4. If you chose Hit or Double Down, you will get another card. If you chose Hit, you have the option of selecting Hit again or Standing. If you chose Double Down, your turn is now over.
5. When you chose Double Down or Stand, it's the dealer's turn. He/She/It may hit a few times before standing and revealing the results. The goal is to be the one closer to 21 without going over (known as a Bust).
*. Also, when it is your turn and your Cheat Gauge is up, you can tilt the odds around by peeking at your opponent's card or redrawing them. Note that your opponent also has the ability to cheat, but their cheats are a lot cheaper (Pocket Ace, Fresh Start, etc.)
Facts
1. The computer cheats. A lot.
2. When your opponent's health gauge is empty, they'll give you a few tickets and leave the table. They will then be replaced with a newer, cheaper opponent.
3. Cardbot cheats. A lot.
4. You will almost never, ever use your cheat button. It's not as useful as it sounds.
5. After you beat the 3rd opponent, Cardbot, it will be replaced with the first opponent again.
Card Values
Aces change between 1 and 11, depending on the situation. The computer automatically adds them up to make the best combo. (i.e. You have an ace and a 3 (14), and you draw a 9. The ace then changes to a 1 to keep you from busting.)
All face cards have a value of 10. (Jack, Queen, and King)
All other cards' values are exactly as listed on the card.
