The room is ravishly lit, and there are foods from all over Pern on the enormous wooden table. Chairs are scattered here and there, and some are placed around circular tables with more candles lit on them. The air is nicely warm, just right for newly hatched dragonets.

Nadia nervously slipped into the crowded Gather, tugging fretfully at her dress tunic and smoothing out her skirt. Sulaith followed cautiously after, eyes whirling and searching. There are so many people... Nadia turned and placed a comforting hand on her head Don't worry love, we won't stay too long. Look, there's a seat over there in the corner...we can get out of everyone's way she said encouragingly.
The pair made their way over to snag the seat and sat waiting for the other weyrlings to arrive. Nadia poured herself a glass of wine and sipped at it gently, looking around at the crowd.

Ty walked into the room and looked around, eyeing the people and seeing whether things would be like they uses to. She walked in a bit and stood to the left of the entrance, giving others room to enter as well. She was an impressive sight, her hand on her hips, her legs set sholder-width apart, on knee popped out. Her dress, an emerald green that mirrored her eyes, hugged her form. Though the dress showed her scar, she wore it proudly, and the scar was old, so many did not even notice it. The dress had a slit up her right leg, the one that was poped, up to about two inches above her knee. Her aubern hair stood out among the brown, black and blonds all about her, and attracted the attention of others. Her taned skin glowed in the glow light and she smiled, knowing the thought of some of the men thought she didn have telepethy as her ability.
Ty continued to look aroud, but saw know she knew imedatly. She saw the holders of the nreaest holds and the Weyrleaders, but know one else she reconenises, exept the rare rider. I see no one I know, so I'm going to go sit at that table, there dosn't seem to be that many people there. I know your full, but do you feel up to coming, or do you want me to take you back to bed?? She asked Azzuroth.
I'm fine but you go sit down and eat. Azzuroth said encouraginly. He started to walk tword the table he thought Ty ment. She smiled and followed him, looking around as more people entered.
Reaching the table, Ty poured herself a glass or wine and sat down at the table. She sat with her back tot he table and her facing the entrance. She took a sip of wine, reconizing the famous Bendon white. Crossing her legs suggestively, she tilted her head up. Closing her eyes, she relished in the warmth of the room and the wine taste on her tongue, pushing down her memories of unhappier times.
((Nice hair El!!))

L'ron and Selora walked in, hand in hand. L'ron smiled.
At least everything is going along well here, he thought. Courteously, he pulled out Selora's chair so she could be seated.

Dankia walked into the hall with Talana and their dragonets. They quietly got their plates and sat down to enjoy the delicious food.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alex followed the others that had bonded with the young dragons into a hall filled with food. It was a feast of some kind. Xephyath followed closely at his heels. Alex, or, unbeknownst to him, A'lex, looked around for his friends.
Selora gave L'ron a look of thanks, and took her seat. She looked around the room, nodding at various faces she recognized. Love, did you get something to eat? she thought to Ruketh. Yes, Mine. But I know you're hungry now, too. I'm fine, Love. I'll eat soon.
(I know, I've been a little lax for the past couple weeks, but I'm having trouble keeping up with my rps for various reasons- not the least of which is a sudden lack of interest in many of the guilds- but I'll try to be more diligent from now on. Since Christmas is approaching, that may be a bit hard, but I will try.)
Kai, Talanth scampering in behind her, smiled as she saw the brightly lit room and all the food. Her stomach rumbled, reminding her of her long-ago last meal, and she glanced down at her dragonet. Would you mind if I got food, Talanth?
I am satisfied for now, Kaivanimine. I do not mind if you eat as well.
Kai smiled and made her way for the food tables, her sharp hearing- always listening for some interesting tidbit of information- catching snippets of conversations here and there, mainly people talking of the unusual number of queens the Clutch had or laughing about one thing or another.
Marcus entered the large room, following the lead of the Pernese. He could see many dishes set out with delicious-looking food set on them. Turning to one of the Pernese - What was her name? Kai? That was right... - he spoke.
"What happens now?" he asked the pernese girl, not wanting to offend any possible local customs by just sitting down and eating.
Gemina, or Gem, as she liked to be called, entered the large room that was set up for the feast. Gem had missed the hatching, because she had been out in the fields, playing with he firelizards. She had not heard the dragons hum, being so far away from the Weyr, and so had impressed no dragons, but her two firelizards, Sella, a green, and Varanth, a bronze, were draped on her shoulders, entangled in her long black hair. Her unnaturally bright red highlights caught the light and sent red specks of light running over her firelizards' scales. The young woman's black eyes glistened. Gem wore black pants and a white shirt. Ruby drops hung from her ears-the only thing her parents had left her. Those were the nicest clothes she had since she was 17 turns old and had been living in an abandoned cave for the past two years, after her parents had been killed by thread. Only a few days ago had Gem been found and brought to live at Benden Weyr for the time being; it was extremely likely she would soon be sent to live somewhere else. Ever since she had arrived, Gem had been working all over the Weyr, performing odd jobs for various people-mostly in the kitchen. However, Gem wasn't very social, and liked to remain inconspicuous, humming to herself in a beautiful voice while she worked, or admiring the dragons. She wished to someday be a dragonrider and fight the monster that had killed her parents or become a harper, maybe even Masterharper, someday.
However, all thoughts were erased from her mind when she entered the hall, smelling the meat and other dishes that were native to Pern. Gem sat in a seat and grabbed a cup of Klah, taking a long draught. She didn't much like wine, it made her feel jittery, and Gem didn't like huge bouts of emotion; she tended to be very calm. She silently fed her forelizads some meat. They purred happily.
Gem saw some of the new people. She had not yet had a chance to meet one, and was fascinated. This was mostly because of her love of the nightsky, and stars. She couldn't wait to ask them about stars, since the people had seemingly fallen out of the sky. Gem saw some more meat and rubbed her firelizards' bellies. "You little ones are getting fat," she said, amused.
Zane walked the way the girl had. Following the loud voices and the smell of food. He was really hungry, they hadn't eating anything in a long time, though it was only a day, it felt much longer.
T'delia and Azzuroth.
What?
That girl, her name was T'delia and her dragon's was Azzuroth. Zalith said as he walked next to Zane.
Oh, okay. Thanks. I wonder what this place is going to be like. Or what the food is like. Or how they are going to treat me, or how I'm going to comunicate with them. Or-
I know how.
Zane looked down at the baby dragon that was walking beside him. That he was talking to. What? Know how to what? He asked, helping the dragon to remember to speak in full sentences.
I know how you can talk to the others. I can talk to their dragons and their dragons can talk to them. If you were a telepath you could talk directly mind to mind, but your not. I think another telepath could talk to you, and like read you answers or something, I'm not sure. That girl, T'delia? She was a telepath, and when she helped you, she used our 'limk' she called it, and I got that there is a way for the people of here to talk you you with their minds, from her mind. By this time, Zane had stopped dead with amazment and Zalith had stopped with him. The little bronze what looking into the shadowed face of his chosen and waited, knowing he was absorbing the information.
Are you telling the truth? He said looking down at the dragonet at his feet.
Zalith nodded. Yes. Of course. Why wouldn't I?? The dragonet replied, curiosity in his voice.
I don't know. Come on, I'm hungry. Zane said and he started walking.
You're the one who stopped.
Yah, yah, ya- Zane stopped dead once again. He had turned into the entrence way of the Dinning Hall. He involentaraly took a step back, almost walking on Zalith. There were so many people. Zane had never seen so may people in his entire life. And the noise!! It was never that loud in the ship. And the smells and the colors!! Oh the colors! THere was red, and yellow and blue and purple and green. Oh, the green. Zane's eyes were drawn imedietly to the girl who had helped him before. She wore a beutifull green dress that hugged her body in jus tthe right ways. The slit in the dress, showed quite a bit of her leg, expesialy witht he way she had crossed them. The smile on her lips told that she knew exactly what was going on with his body and had planned it just so. The lines on her forhead were only slightly there, and the way her head was tilted, she only bearly saw them, but it was enough for him to know that there was more behind the facade she was showing.
T'delia opened her eyes and looked at the entrance. She saw the Terrian who she had helped. He was standing in the middle of the entrence way, gawking at her. It wouldn't have been more obvious if his mout had been open. But is wasn't lust or wanting that she read in his face, it was...curiousity? Wonder? And hidden almost perfictly was, fear. What did this strong, hansome, probably evil man had to be afraid of? Now he probably isn't evil, why would a dragons chose him if he was evil? Ty flicked her attention to the mad standing behind the guy. She could tell that he was anoid that the guys wasn't moving, and she was going to do somthign about it soon.
Before she could react, the guy pushed Zane ruffly and walked into the Dinning Hall, heading straight to the food. Zane, not expecting the push, stumbled and took a few steps at and angle to the front and left, succsedign this time to step on Zalith's tail. The moment he heard the squawk, he was down, holdin the baby dragon. He had scooted out to the entrence way and was now next to it, with his back to the wall. Zane held the little dragon, his arms bulging witht eh effort and slowly rocked back and forth. Are you okay? I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to!! I'm so sorry, are you okay? Are you hurt, did anything break?? Zalith! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean too. He rocked the dragon back and forth.
I'm oaky, my tail is sore, I don't know if anything is boken. You reacted fast enogh not to put your full weight on it.
can you stand, I want to check. He put the dragon down, making sure he was steady, before turning to the tail. he slowly ran his fingers over each vertebrae, making sure they were alinged and nothing was broken. He movined is slowly and expertly back and forth. When no cry came from Zalith, he assumed that he may have brused somthing, but nothing was broken.
T'delia watched him do all of this. She was impressed. His reaction was amazing, I bearly saw him move. I saw his foot step on the bronzes tail, adn then he was holding the dragon, his back against the wall, rocking it. She ran her fingers through her hair, somthing that she did often and her hair showed it, seperating into neat little rows after her figers had gone though them. She shook her head, skaking out the rows. And the experties he showed when cecking the tail. He looked so relaxed. T'delia looked on, to see what would happen next.
Theria walked in with Dantrieth at her side. She saw that the strangers were beginning to be more open with the weyrlings as she went to the table and gathered food onto her plate. If there was anything better than Gather food, she had yet to taste it! She sat down at a table with space left and began to eat as the room filled.
Dantrieth saw that his rider was safely installed at her bench and wandered toward his clutchmates. Theria wanted to know about the boy who fell, Dantrieth remembered it proudly. He could ask the boy's dragon.
"Here, have a plate," she picked up two and pushed one into his hands, "Now, take what you want." She motioned at the food, then grinned brightly for a moment, before realizing something. "Wait. Do you even know what any of this is?" Kai frowned as she took a spoonful of mashed taters.
But it doesn't look anything like the food I ate on the Tyrana. That was all pre-packaged or recycled nutrients in blocks of food. This... this is odd to me. Well, there's nothing I can do but try it out, I guess," said Marcus, and he got a piece of the food nearest im. It was chewy and juicy and it tasted rather odd, but in a good kind of way. Gleaning information from the surface thoughts of some of the other people, he learned that it was called 'meat.' He rather liked it.
