For all of you who don't know, this is where descriptions of the mythological creatures are. I am not a master of all, and do not know everything. My specialty is kitsune(AKA a fox-spirit)which is what will be defined first....by this link http://www.answers.com/topic/kitsune (I'm lazy! gonk ) This webcomic helped me out with to understand kitsune as well http://www.magickitsune.comWhat is a werewolf? I mean, seriously? who hasn't heard of a werewofl? Anyways, the short answer is a person believed to have been transformed into a wolf or to be capable of assuming the form of a wolf. The in depth version is here. http://www.answers.com/topic/werewolfWhat is a Neko? I hardly know. But, here is a answer i copied and pasted 3nodding In truth nekos are cats. But if you are a cosplayer or an rp type of person then a neko is a half cat person. So there are more than one types of nekos. A real life neko is just an ordinary house kitty/cat. The reason for its name is because it is japanese. But if your talking about 'neko' as in an anime type of person then a 'neko' would be considered as a human with cat ears and a cat tail. Basically its a human with cat parts and etc. Nekos can be found in your house or on an anime show. What is a vampire? Oh gosh...I don't even want to give a brief discription, cuz some Twilight freak is gonna yell at me. http://www.answers.com/topic/vampireIf there are anymore creatures you would like to add, just post them to this thread with a descritptive....er....description of what they are and what they do. Thanks!

None to look like this : http://image.wetpaint.com/image/1/eT_uPuylpMmiWXL3dS_uNw139661/GW676H615In Greek mythology, Medusa (Greek: Μέδουσα, Médousa, "guardian, protectress") and some times knowen as the gorgan, was a monstrous chthonic female character, essentially an extension of an apotropaic mask, whose gaze could turn onlookers to stone. She was born of Phorcys and Ceto or in some cases, Typhon and Echidna (Pre-Titan gods) she had two sisters, Stheno and Euryale both of whom were immortal, Medusa was not. They lived on an island at the end of the world.
In other versions she was a human with blonde hair and she had no sisters. She slept with Poseidon in Athena's temple, so Athena punished Medusa by turning her into a monster with hair made of snakes and is sometimes described to be half snake herself!
he was instructed by his soon to be father to get the gorgan's head.He used Hades's clap of invisibility, winged sandals from Hermes, a sword and a mirrored shield. After slicing her head off in her sleep blood sprouted Pegasus and the giant Chrysaor. Perseus then flew off the island on Pegasus to escape her sisters who had woken up! he later returned to his soon to be father and turned him to stone with the gorgan's head.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Better clearing of these things : Bassically what this is saying is by turning her into a monster with hair made of snakes and is sometimes described to be half snake woman. Read about it here : http://www.mythicalcreaturesguide.com/page/Medusa or here : http://www.loggia.com/myth/medusa.html

Myths about Merpeople and Sharkpeople, date back far beyond twenith centries, even the Ice Age people drew pictures of them on their walls. Or, at least the ones that dwelled by the Seas, Lakes, Or Oceans. Also, the one's who warshipped them, were mostly the one's who said to have gone on many journies with them, far below the water's surface. It is also said that these 'water people helped the Tribes during the Ice Age, taught them how to hunt fish and kill whales much later on. But the one's who showed the people how to kill, were not merpeople, they were Sharkpeople. The shark people are known for their shark tails, and their ruthless killer instincts like a Sharks. _________________________________________________For easy understanding: Merpeople and Sharkpeople. Shark people have Shark tails and are known for being mean or tricky. They like to cause more harm, but not all of them. Merpeople are either really evil, swaying and singing soldiers or sailors to their deaths; or really nice, trying to help heal the world and save all cratures. There are very few middle'' kind of merpeople, such as in they are not evil, but not good either. Some pics or examples of many different types of ppl;

species: kitsune
In Japanese folklore, kitsune are believed to possess great intelligence, long life, and magical powers. Foremost among these is the ability to shapeshift into human form; a fox is said to learn to do this when it attains a certain age (usually a hundred years, though some tales say fifty).
Other magical powers commonly attributed to the kitsune include possession (see kitsunetsuki), the ability to generate fire from their tails or to breathe fire, the power to manifest in dreams, and the ability to create illusions so elaborate as to be almost indistinguishable from reality.
Some tales go further still, speaking of kitsune with the ability to bend time and space, to drive people mad, or to take such nonhuman and fantastic shapes as a tree of incredible height or a second moon in the sky.
Occasionally kitsune are ascribed a characteristic reminiscent of vampires or succubi — these kitsune feed on the life or spirit of humans, generally through sexual contact.
Weaknesses
In some stories, kitsune have difficulty hiding their tail — usually the foxes in these stories have only one, which may be an indication that this is a weakness born of inexperience — when they take human form; the observant protagonist sees through the fox's disguise when the drunken or careless fox allows its tail to show.
Sometimes kitsune are depicted guarding a round or pear-shaped ball (hoshi no tama or star ball). It is said those who obtain the ball can force the kitsune to help them; one theory, though, is that the kitsune places a portion of their power into this item, while possessing mortals, or while in human form. Kitsune must keep their promises or suffer a deterioration in their rank and power.
Kitsune tend not use their real names when among mortals as it can be used to bind the kitsune, banish it, or work spirit magic on it. For the most part, the kitsune will take a name appropiate to the task at hand, or as a joke.
Kitsunes are known to have a great fear and hatred of dogs, and some become so rattled by the presence of a dog that they will revert to the shape of a fox and flee.
Kitsunes are also a victim of their own feelings. A kitsune's emotions can cause them harm, or distract them. The Sin of Regret can even kill a kitsune outright.
