Any ideas or interesting ideas to make the homepage look pretty and decorative so that it can attract more people looking for a guild?

Well, using the BBC Code is your only option I think. Tweak the look with font colors and images from an image hosting site. It's really personal preference as to what goes on your Guild Homepage.
I can link you to a font color listing I keep handy in my journal though.

It's not much but it's a start. :3
