Another death had been reported....

Another soul had been lost....

Lost to the demon of the mountains....

The nation of Nakadrak was on edge. People where afraid to leave their houses, save that they would be discovered the next day just as all the others had been; Stomach slashed, intestines thrown into the light, heart missing. Hardly a day would pass without someone hearing rumours of yet another person gone missing, or another body had turned up.

But who was the culprit? Most believed that the only possible thing that could do this, was the feral Gryphon kulgenki named Inskillio. But was it really possible? Could a 1000 year old legend be real and alive, waiting to tear anyone who ventured into the mountains?

Word of the murders had reached Savon, and he was most concerned for the welfare of his people. In order to find out the truth behind these murders, and to put a stop to them, he sent word to the towns, looking for individuals brave enough to venture into the mountains, and to find out what was really happening

It was a little unsettling to think about in the least. Even if the Legend turned out to be false, it still meant that something was on some sort of murderous rampage. Either way, Blade was there to try and help out with the whole mess. He was never one to really believe in the tales to be true, even when he and Poke found someone who apparently had been killed by a gryphon.

But when things escalated from there, the thief began to doubt himself. Maybe there really was a vengeful spirit out in the mountains. There really wasn't any way for anyone to tell aside from seeking out the truth behind the whole matter. Considering the fate of many so far, it was likely to be risky, but both he and Maelthra agreed they should probably see if they can help out at all.

Personally, Maelthra remembered the despair of the relatives of the first victim they came across. With others dying, it meant that there were more like the elven girl who had lost a love one to this force. He, himself, hadn't really experienced such loss, but he knew his Humakin did which was quite close enough.

With the day turning to night, the two waited on the outskirts of Nakadrak to see if there would be any others to venture out to find answers. If no one turned up, then they'd be heading out on their own.
