In your opinion, who do you think is the most respectable character in fushigi yugi? why do you think this?

I'd have to say Hotohori. He was so lonely throughout his whole life and finally when he finds someone he truly loves, the love is unrequited. Instead of holding a grudge against Tamahome, he treats him like a brother and has full respect and support for the relationship between Tamahome and Miaka.
Also, even though he was the Emporer, he fought leading his people, and till his end he fought to protect those that he loved.
Hotohori was kind and gentle and never wished harm on anyone unless it was to protect others. Although he is a narcissist, he is totally selfless in everything that he does.

I gotta say i respect chichiri. He acts as a kind of older brother, and is constantly giving helping advice to miaka and the others.

I think it's hotohori... blaugh here my 3 reasons:
3nodding First he is the emperor
3nodding Second, he respected miaka's decision ( When miaka rejected him for his proposal to her to be his wife)
3nodding Third, He fought nakago with all he can and without any hesitation (even though it cost his life crying )

i'd say taskui. he cool, funny, and even thought he like maika a little he still let Tama be with her.
