Being that I've been working on creating my own coming for a while now (as a writer, I wouldn't feel right drawing a comic for the life of me) I figured that we should have a thread for all aspiring comic artists and writers to get together and talk about their projects or give each other advice or what-have-you. And to see if there are any in the Guild, of course. and maybe for writers to find artists and vice versa. Post away.

I am currently working on two projects. The first is a short story about a group of scientists who the discover the "Ethereal Plane" or the dimension where all spirits exist and make a serum that changes normal people into meta-humans so they can explore this new dimension.
My other project is a fantasy series of short stories that will all tie in together at the end. This will eventually lead to my fantasy trilogy.
Or did you just want comic writers? sweatdrop

No, that's fine. Haha. Its always good to hear what kinds of stories are out there in general, Ronzer. I'm a writer of all sorts, personally. I've been working on short stories, novels, and a script for a comic book which I think I've just found the artist for.
Here's a question: Would you ever consider letting someone draw out one of your stories as a comic?

Oh yeah. Comics have been one of my all time favorite mediums but it would depend heavily on who the artist was and I would still have to be the writer. Like the Dark Tower comics from Marvel, Stephen King let Robin Furth write the comics, with Jae Lee as the artist. Now Robin is the most knowledgable about the Dark Tower series other than King himself but it would drive me nuts to let my epic be written by anyone other than me.

Yeah, I can understand that. I'm a writer and an artist, and normally I would feel that way about drawing my characters, but since my style is not what I wanted for my comic, I had to find another artist to draw my story. But she's good, and I'm glad to be working with her. But I could never let another writer work with my characters in any canon-to-the-storyline kind of way. (Not that I wouldn't be flattered by fanart, fanfics, or fancomics, if I ever got that popular.)
