Here I wanted to create a thread on the B.O.W.'s. (whos your fave, what could improve on them, what was so deadly about them etc etc). Here is also for the bad guys of Resi; Wesker, Birkin, Marcus, Alexia, Vincent..and so on.
You can even throw in your own ideas of what new B.O.W.'s you would like to see. (but dont get too out there lol we want it to be serious)

This can also be a picture gallery for Umbrella.

Alright, seeing as no one is jumping in on this I might as well be one of the first to post in this thread. The B.O.W. I've always had a soft spot for in my black heart have been the Hunters. With the exception of what REDA did to their look, most of them have really proven themselves horrorific monsters. So with that in mind, I created a Hunter for Raccoon City Eternal Damnation, an RPG that Kali and I founded so many years ago.

It was created in Antartica and is known as the Hunter Omega or "Artic Hunter". The basics of this Hunter are pretty standard. It maintains MOST of the actual physical traits of the standard Hunter, you can pretty much imagine the body type. Unlike the others, this Hunter is pale white in color and has a slightly elongated head. Atop this head are pink scales, each varying in size, but far larger then it's normal body scales. When under the thick ice, these pink scales heat up, turning red, which in turn melts the ice, allowing the Hunter to burrow through the packed snow and ice, creating a network of elaborate caverns that would no doubt serve as a means of tracking it's prey.

Fave BOW? Zombies.

Every RE game tries to throw in something that'll scare you surprise you, or just irritate the hell out of you. The lamest are usually the animals (zombie sharks, for F***'s sake.) like the snake in RE1 and the alligator in RE2.

The zombies, on the other hand, consistently surprise, disgust and scare. Just when you get blase about zigzagging through a crowd of the deadheads, one of them will burst out of a burning patrol car and go for your legs.

Or, in the classic example, you'll be reading an increasingly disturbing diary and they'll leap out at you from behind. A simple trick, but effective.

The zombies seem versatile in a way that the larger BOWs aren't. Perhaps the designers are forced to use the bogstandard zombie in innovative ways whereas the other BOWs are expected to be interesting enough in themselves.

Having said that, I love the spiders. Poison spraying bastards.

Haha, I loved Neptune. I just loved the magnitude of research that Umbrella was engaged with. What I love even more is that Sharks are considered by most of be one of Nature's perfections. Sharks and Alligators haven't changed much in millions of years, hence why people believe that. But my point. It's also believed that sharks do not get sick, that they have terrific immune systems. So for Umbrella to create something like a Zombie Shark is simple amazing to me.

As for Insects or simple lifeforms getting big, it's weird. Like why can a snake and an alligator turn out to be giants, while Crows and Bats are incapable of doing so? Perhaps there is something within the Reptiles genetic code that leaves room for expansion.

Technically, giant insects are the most absurd, that goes for arachnids like the spiders. Y'see, insects don't have lungs, they distribute air through their bodies via air pressure through a system of holes. Any insect bigger than a large dinner plate wouldn't be able to breathe.

That just adds to the mystery of the T-Virus. And since the Mother Virus is from Ants, there is some genetic mystery locked within the Virus that causes the insects to grow into sizes similiar to their prehistoric cousins.

So what, the T-virus can grow lungs? It's logical enough that it'd have some regenerative potential

(in fact, that seems to be the premise of the RE2 film trailer - the T-virus as a youth regenerative drug)

since otherwise all the zombies would be inactive after a few days as their bodies decayed.

but growing new organs that weren't part of the original creature?

I dunno how far I'd read into the teaser trailer. Anyone who knows RE would understand the whole underlying theme of that fake infomerical. "Brings dead cells back to life."

As for the construction of cells, I don't think that's really possible. I think the T-Virus is nothing more than a reanimator. It is capable of acting on the bioelectric energies still within the brain after death. From there is reactivates whats left of the cells. I think it only sustains those bioelectric energies, nothing more. The Zombies can't regenerate, they just act on hunger. They feel no pain, nor do they truly know whats going on around them.

But perhaps Umbrella has seen prolonged effects of the Zombie. Maybe they do eventually decay fully. But then again maybe it prevents them from fully decomposing, especially since RECV showed Zombies rising from the grave. And the Zombies in RE2 were basically living husks with little else in their midsections.

I heard that too a long time ago. But then how can prehistoric insects be so big??? Ah, forget it...

Anyway, Bebi, in RE zero there WAS a giant bat wasn't there? Though I don't remember any other mammals growing...

You forgot to mention that it was made by a director that knows NOTHING of the RE series... Which makes me cry crying ninja Also don't forget that RE is a master of loopholes! Don't take such trivial things so seriously right? domokun

lol i hope thats true...but there is this game called parasite eve where they explain all this crap about mitocondria with their own DNA and how it mutated at incredible rates giving the its "host" ,because it is said that mitochondria was actually a parasite, amazing abilities....it was very convincing but in reality, the probability that my mitochondria will mutate at that rate is highly unlikely

I know man, I love that game. It's short but one of squaresofts betters (no random battle bullcrap). It's not possible at all. Mitochandria only evolve 3 times fast according to game (which makes no sense, but under that rule then it would still take millions of generations. Er, I'm just getting confused now, squaresoft has a disgusting habbit of not even trying to cover their loopholes. The second PE game just made things worse. And made even less sense. That game in general just angered me greatly. (PE2: May you burn in hell with you accomplice Tenchu 2)

haha... I'm a big fan of the Hunters... by far if anything scares me more in an RE Game it has to be the Hunters... I mean... what's scarier then not having a Magnum or Grenade Launcher and seeing one of those things? Plus, the chance of getting decapitated, when you're not saving too often to go and get that high ranking score?

The B.O.W.s, if you really think about it some of the earlier bosses could beat the Tyrants. Think some are more intelligent and bigger, for example the Yawn, the Neptune(if in water with Tyrant, S.T.A.R.S. member can swim and Tyrant can not), Lisa Trevor(No Duh!), etc.
Sorry I had to post it biggrin
My favorite B.O.W. is the Tyrant from RE1-The Remake and Nemesis!

I love the way Hunters are designed mainly because of the fact that they scream out before they attack you, it relates to my love of Velociraptors. heart
