Sword and Shield and Dual Swords:

Sword and Shield:
A simple but effective weapon, Sword and Shield (SnS) weapons often have strong status damage attached to their low damage output. The shield allows you to guard monster attacks and you can also use items while using the SnS. It's small size allows for quick unsheathing and the ability to run.

Pros: Allows for quick attacks, high status damage attached to most weapons, good for hit and run attacks, good against fast monsters, allows for items to be used while drawn

Cons: Low damage, short reach, when fighting monsters that go into rage mode often (Tigrex) and have quick attacks it may be hard to fight

Dual Swords:
A pair of blades that while wielding gives the power of demons to the wielder. Dual swords have the largest variety of attacks and their Demon's Dance skill allows hunters to tear through most monsters. Due to the fact of two blades, a pair of dual blades may have two separate status attributes. Their sharpness can be low so whetstones are a must.

Pros: Quick weapon, huge variety of attacks, high damage output over time, Demon's Dance

Cons: Short reach, low sharpness, no guard
