Hi hi! it's the very first lesson! So to celebrate the occasion, cupcakes for all! *hands cup cakes*
Now down to seriousness, here is a brief summary of Chapter 1-Lesson 1!: In this section you will learn basic greetings, responses, and introductions that you could use in real life!
The lesson:
(I am not siting right next to you, so I'm going to trust you in participating in the oral drills, k?)
Let's start with a basic greetings drill! Read the following phrases and English translations out loud. Then repeat.
1. Good afternoon - Konichiwa (cone-e-chi-wa) 2. Good evening - Kombowa (comb-bow-wa) 3. How are you? - Ogenki desu ka. 4. I'm fine, thanks. - Genki desu, domo arigato
*'Kombowa' and 'Konichiwa' can be easily confused, so the best way to remember witch is witch is 'You comb your hair before you go to bed.'
Now for some introductions! Read the following phrases and translations out loud. then repeat.
1. My name is ____. - ____ to Moshimasu. 2. And yours? (name) - anata no onamae wa. *This one is easy to remember because it sounds like 'and no name?' 3.Nice to meet you. - anata ni oai dekite ureshii desu.
*note, with words that end in 'su' the u is usually silent,
Now it's time to practice! the best practice is to start using the words or phrases in your everday life, like say...you go to school and your all like, "Konichawa Bob!"
But another good way to learn is to make connections between the Japanese and english phrases so there easyer to remember.
Your practice assignment is located in the assignments topic! So Practice! Practice! Practice!

Lesson 2 Part 1
Summery basic question and answer terms. It is a longer chapter so I'm braking into two parts
The lesson Instructions: Read the following phrases and English translations out loud. Then repeat
Question Terms 1. What? -- Nani 2. Who? -- Dari 3. When? -- Itsu 4. Where? -- Doko 5. Why? -- Naze 6. To where? -- Doko e 7. How? -- Do *pronounce Doe, and the oe sound is elonated 8.Which? -- Dore
Practice There are no longer assignments due to lack of participation, so if you really want to learn Japanese, it's up to you to practice or not, but a fun way to help remember thhese term is towrite them on your hand, so that way, everytime you look at your hand during the day, you see them, and they stick in your head better! another good way to remember is by putting them in use, the more you use them, the more fluint and natrual they feel to you.
