meeli13 Sweet! The monthly books just get better and better! biggrin Indeed they do! We are getting some of the greats being nominated and chosen now. I admit that I didn't read Sabriel for last month because of it being a Young Adult novel. I don't generally find the YA works a satisfying read. I'm still waiting on memoirs to arrive from my book swap. Should hopefully be here in the morning!!

I really loved Memoirs of a Geisha! biggrin I read it a while back though, when it first came out. I even stayed up until almost 4 am reading it once. Haha! I really loved all the characters and their stories. It was wonderfully well-written and beautiful! (But sometimes tragic... -___-)

I've never read Memoirs of a Geisha, but it sounds amazing. The Library rang me literally a few moments to go to say that the copy of Memoirs of a Geisha is back, so I'll be reading it soon!

I love it, and I think they did a good job depicting the whole story when they made the movie. I've read it two (or was it three?) times, and I just love the way Arthur tells it. From the first page you get sucked into the world of the geisha. If you think Hatsumomo is a real hag in the movie, it's worse when you're reading the book! You almost want to throw it across the room! You love the characters so much that you don't even care that Saiyuri and the Chairman are about 20 or 30 years apart. You cheer anyway. heart
