Think about it: Would you rather be deaf, blind, or mute?
Think about the reasons why, and state why you chose what you did.
I think I would like to be mute, if anything. If I were deaf, I could never listen to music. I would never be able to know when someone was talking to me or asking a question. Spoken language means a lot to me. I couldn't live with being blind, either, because I appreciate the things I see and read. I would never want to go anywhere if I couldn't see anything. I would most like being mute, because I already don't talk very much and wouldn't mind not being able to shout, unless, of course, I were in danger.

I would rather be mute, because if I wanted to communicate with some one, I could learn sign language or just write it down.
If I were deaf, I wouldn't be able to hear my daughter speak her first word, or listen to her babble. I also would never hear the birds chirp or listen to the sound of rushing water. I wouldn't be able to listen to all the things I enjoy hearing.
If I were blind, it'd be the same way. I wouldn't be able to see my daughter grow, or watch the milestones that she reaches in her growth, nor be able to watch the sun set, etc.

This is a strange question. Blindness and deafness both take away a perception. Muteness does not.
Who wouldn't choose to be mute?

zz1000zz This is a strange question. Blindness and deafness both take away a perception. Muteness does not. Who wouldn't choose to be mute? That's a very good point. Muteness would probably be the easiest to handle. Although, people are known to compensate for their lost senses by heightening other senses.

Being mute is something I could easily adapt to. If I were deaf I could never listen to music, which is a big part of my life, and if I were blind I would never be abe to see the beauty life has to offer. Muteness (?), however, simply takes my ability to speak, which I can easily overcome with a peice of paper and a pencil or sign language.

To go blind deaf or mute, I would most prefer going mute, if I lost a perception now it would be something I wouldn't have otherwise had to compensate for and relearn how to go about many things. To be born blind deaf or mute, I would like to be deaf; my concentration would be so ridiculously harder to break, as well as (the way I see things) it's the least necessary sense for survival as sound is air moving which (when the majority of dangerous things happen) can be felt.

You bring up a good point. There's a big difference between losing a sense and being born without it.

Any of those choices would really make a great difference in one's life. I can't choose. I'd rather be normal as I am right now. sweatdrop
