I'm not sure if this story has reached America yet or not, but a 10-ft great white shark was recently found almost bitten in half.
Shark vs. Mega Shark
I told my mother about it, who is open minded but is still a bit of a skeptic and she said it may have been killer whales. What do you guys think? Evidence of megafauna?

I don't think an Orca would use a shark for a meal. They're normal diet is sea lions, so I doubt it was an Orca. And it's possible there is a megashark. It's not uncommon for flora and fauna to grow to enormous sizes. Give them a little room, a increasing diet and you got yourself a huge one.
There's reports of monster Catfish. Can't remember the name, but there are some catfish big enough to swallow an average man.

But, this isn't just a "large shark". ... The dead shark is 10. feet. long. That's already a massive animal. To be bitten in half is amazing, that takes a massive, maaaassive animal.

I think it's possible. I mean they are still looking for giant squid and such and there are parts of the ocean that haven't been explored fully.
This is how I think of it, with humans there have been known cases of extremely tall people, and even extremely short people. Who's to say it couldn't happen in the animal kingdom.
Poor shark though. crying I like sharks...

Just look at the Whale Shark, the largest shark recorded.

I suppose.
By the way, a giant squid has been found on the coast of Tasmania, which happens to be in Australia.
Perhaps Australia is just amazingly good at creating enormous sea creatures. xD

I watched that program on Discovery (I think) where they tried to bait it and got some pictures of the tentacles. I didn't know they finally caught it though. I have some strange obsession with squids...

Haha, I searched the name of that article and it took me to another with a picture of a person next to it... Jeez...
60 feet long...
It's like they scare me but I'm obsessed with them at the same time. D:

The thing about white sharks is, like most over-sized sea creatures, they like cold deep waters. Where there are white sharks that big, there are also many other colossal beasts: sperm whales and giant squid... who knows what else. Where that shark came from originally, it might have looked like a tasty sardine to something much bigger.

xD Megshark vs Giant Octopus is an older movie...
Although, I do agree with you, Dog, I think that it came from the deep... and I hope there's still Plesiosaurus and such down there. That would be so magical...

I don't really keep up with all the movies like that. The CGI ruins it for me. ;-;
It'd be awesome if any dinosaurs survived somehow. <3

They also suspect certain birds to be relatives and that most of the insects survived. That and they'd probably survive again if anything major were to happen.
Still, I want a Triceratops! That would be insanely awesome. No Tyrannosaurus Rexs though... they're too scary. ;-;
