Ok, so i have been looking at the drow dictionary and translations and have been interested in the pronunciation of some words. In spanish a double "L" (i.e. llevar-meaning to carry) is pronounced as a "Y". I have seen repeated times drow words with this double "L" (i.e. illistic-meaning fragile), should the double "L" be pronounced as a "Y" or just a single "L"? Also, in Spanish the double "R" is rolled to sound like a purr almost (i.e. perro- means dog, and pero-means 'but'). I was wondering if the double "R" found in clorrh-meaning rites. Those are just a few, i dont want to overdo it on the introduction and have there be any miscomunication amongst us in references to my posting.

P.S. There are also others such as, double "S, Q, U, G, Z, N, and others" that may also be reffered to if such knowlege was known to you. I do not want to be misspronouncing these sounds that would otherwise indicate another meaning.
Thanks! Hope you can help me! whee

the way i heard it put was that teh Drow dialect is much harsher or harder sounding then the other dialect sof Elvish. so i wouldn't expect the double L to be pronounced as in Spanish... but i suppose the Double R might be rolling... also, i assumed the Double Z is like in Italian, where it sounds more like TS.

S, is usually drawn out and stereotypical snake like hiss hence why a lot are double s. ex. Ssinssrig (ss-Inn-ssssrIg)

stuff that has a ' between them are kinda like a click, like spiders in some horror movies,OR like when you are trying to clear your throat. ex. Fa'la (fAH-cklAH)

Most vowels are drawn out or harsh, Usstan (Usss-taaan) Dos (D-OH-ss) singular sounding like os OH-ss are hard vowels, but longer smoother sounding like in an aaan are drawn out

Thats all I know about pronunciation.

Through retarded hours of listening to Drow speak on video games and through a D&D expert named Dwayne who plays a Drow in all his campaignes, it's a lv 32 Drow Rogue? I know theres no point in levelling after 20,but he kept on it

Demon Stone (I think) Champions 1&2, Baulders Gate 2. Especially Champions, there was a couple areas you could listen to the Dark elves talk in their native tounge. (hard to do) so I just kinda listened to the same phrase over and over and kinda ball parked their pronunciation. Dwayne was my biggest help, too bad he doesnt beleive in email or gaia or fb
