I just felt like saying this out loud. I refuse to let everyone on gaia know who I am by joining the Facebook page. I don't everyone to know my first and last name. Tis why I also don't have a myspace.

That's true. Although random people can't see your personal information (If you click the "friends only" feature, they can still see your first and last name, which can be used to find a lot of information off a person, especially if it's a unique name.
I kinda like Facebook, but I hated Myspace. Myspace was just ugly and confusing. Facebook actually makes some sense, and isn't butt-ugly.

I dunno, I kind of like having my wall update every time I dress my Avi. I don't post my status very often, so it lets people know I'm alive and it looks kind of cool, imo.
Plus I got free gold for connecting XD

Bah, none of my friends on facebook have a clue what gaia is (as far as I know at least) and I highly doubt that there randomly would pop up a perv that happens to be living in the same country as me and who instead of raping some poor girl in the park goes through the trouble of finding out how many people with my last name there is here. A clue: more than 3 pages in the phone book just for my county. Common name is common.

GigaForte Wait; people can visit your facebook page directly from gaia? I don't know, but I doubt it. The thing is, Gaia was sort of supposed to be anonymous. For people to sort of be their full selves, or someone else, without having to deal with the real world. Facebook is adding that real world element... Which sucks.

Oh Little Miss B GigaForte Wait; people can visit your facebook page directly from gaia? I think only your friends can... eeew.... Yeah, I know about the anonymity thing, LuLu, and I thought that the point of the facebook thing was only to tell your IRL friends what you're doing on gaia. But if it tells ggaians your IRL identity... not. safe. at all.

GigaForte Wait; people can visit your facebook page directly from gaia? Actually, I think only people on FB can directly see your Gaia, not the other way around. I may be wrong, though, I don't think any of my friends use FB Connect, but I don't see any links on my Gaia page that I didn't put there myself =P

Hyperactive Hawk GigaForte Wait; people can visit your facebook page directly from gaia? Actually, I think only people on FB can directly see your Gaia, not the other way around. I may be wrong, though, I don't think any of my friends use FB Connect, but I don't see any links on my Gaia page that I didn't put there myself =P yeah, that's what I originally thought. It makes the most sense, because it's a no-brainer that gaia wants it to recruit more members, and linking to facebook from gaia wouldn't really benefit them.

Facebook is probably paying gaia to recommend more people to the site.
More people = More facebookers. More facebookers = Bigger pay for gaia.

il Kaori li Facebook is probably paying gaia to recommend more people to the site.
More people = More facebookers. More facebookers = Bigger pay for gaia.
=-= Nothing wrong with that. Bigger pay for Gaia=bigger pay for coders/artists Bigger pay for coders/artists=Cooler items and features for Gaians
