So I'm going to school full-time now that I'm not working and nap time is homework time for me. Yesterday he fought with me on taking a nap. I put him down for the nap at 12:00 and he didn't fall asleep til 2:00. But he did take his nap and I was able to get my Biology lab done.
Today is my day to work on my small business class. I have 3 chapters to read out of one book, 20 pages to read from another, an essay to write and a set of short answer questions to do and he won't take his nap again.
I had to go in and lay down the law and demand that he take his nap. And for the first time I saw him cry cause he knew I was mad at him. It broke my heart!
He's been quiet since I left so I think he's taking his nap now. I feel like a terrible person. Even though I know that school will help us all have a better life and make me a better provider for him, he doesn't understand.

Don't be sad, your doing your best. Just remeber no matter what to be stern but not angrey. You never wanna sound like your his age yelling at him, always sound like the boss.
Hes little and I'm sure it'll get worse before better, I mean you havn't even bailed him out of jail yet lol

I'm waiting for the day. David went to jail for getting into a fist fight with his cusin(female) because they couldn't agree on what store to go to. I'm hoping sasha didn't get that temper

My sister is the one with a temper in my family. I going to blame her for Alex's sick angry. It's funny. When Alex is unhappy I'm always looking for the thing he is missing, but I never think that he is just in a bad mood. I have to remember that we all can't be happy and content every day. Lord knows I have my days. It only makes sense that he would have his too.

it is hard when our kids aren't happy. We look to "fix it" no matterwhat age they are. It is great that you realize it is ok for him to just have a bad day. Don't worry about being too stern or too leiant. YOu will find the right mix for you guys as you go. Going to school is awsome and you are showing him that you value you him enough to be more. Eventually he will see it! Just until then go easy on yourself smile

Right before his nap time wear him out. Take him running in the yard or better yet go swimming (I did that the other day and my daughter crashed instantly). The most likely reason why he's fighting nap time is because he just isn't tired. Just set aside some time to go to a small playground to run around and wear himself out then it will be lights out with no complaints.
