Ahh, this was always one of my favorite of the Vampire books that Anne wrote over the years. This one is the story of Marius, maker of Armand. Without giving too, too much away (because I know Vogue hasn't read it), this story starts with an ancient Nordic vampire frozen in ice, who meets Marius de Romanus, and inquires of him his story. So, of course, Marius gives him that story, in all its long and splendid glory, from start to finish. And let me tell you, I found it to be spellbinding.
So, who else loved this book? Who hated it? Do you like Marius' character? If so, why? If no, why not? Was there any part in particular that turned you off?
Please be sure to clearly mark spoilers. Or, if you haven't read the book, don't read past this post, I guess. To avoid those spoilers.

This is one of the books from the chronicles that i didn't get to read because my friend wouldn't shut up about it and ruined it for me. rolleyes
Now I may pick it up some day since I can hardly remember what he said about it, but I might give it a grab from the library.

It is a good book. I enjoyed it more than once.
Rune, have you been introduced to Marius in any of the other books you'd read? Surely you must have come across him. He is mentioned, I believe, all throughout The Vampire Lestat and a few of the other books. He's an important character in The Vampire Armand.
Marius, Armand, Lestat, Gabrielle, David, Daniel, Pandora... Mahareht and Mekari, even. I have a soft spot for all of Anne's Vampires. Anne could never make me cry or throw a book away in anger only to come crawling back over to it and continue the story. Not like Stephen King can...
But she could always make me fall in love, always keep me glued to the pages, and she could always make my heart feel all aflutter. Pure beauty. Heh.
I believe, personally, that Blood and Gold is a good example of this.
