Herb used to make Absinthe, it is what creates the hallucinogenic properties.
Used in incense to raise spirits, when burned in a graveyard it is said to make spirits not only rise but to speak as well.

Exorcism (seems kind of ironic, the same herb that helps raise spirits also casts them out)

Tossed into the Samhain fire for protection from roaming spirits.
Carried to protect against bewitchment and the bite of sea serpents ( look out Nessie...)
Added to love mixture of rose, yarrow and rosemary then placed under the bed it is said to draw a loved one to you.
