yeah...no dout,i LOVE evanescence like hell but there CAN be better bands.Not meaning to discourage you but lots of people dont even know evanescence in gaia.

Evanescence is one of my favorite bands ever and I think are some good bands out there but evanescence is my favorite female singer. Her inspiration band was Heart.

The long hiatus Ev has been on has kinda put me off them for a bit.
But I recently gave The Open Door a listen again after months of not listening to Ev and I'm in love again. <3
There are tons of great bands out there -- there can never be a "best" band.

There was a point in my life that I would have said no way, no other band even comes close!
But as with all bands/ songs I'm in love with, that changes.
I still love ev, I go on and off with listening to them. I can say though, they were the first band I ever listened to and love ALL of the song on their album (Fallen). They were the first/only band that I made a point to have all of their cd's. The were the first concert I ever went to.
I still love Ev, and for the genre of music they produce, they are still my favourite. However, at the moment, I have a couple other bands I'm obsessed with. I believe however, that I'll always like ev, unlike other bands where my love for them fades

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to that question. It all depends on matter of opinion, and I respect other people's opinions even if I don't agree with them. Tastes in music differ, obviously, and I don't think it's possible to pinpoint any specific type of music that everyone likes and agrees with.
As for me, however, Evanescence is definately my favorite band, no questions asked. The combination of piano, vocals and metal/rock is freaking godlike to me.
So, to rephrase the question: Will there ever be another band quite like Evanescence? No, I don't think there ever will. =]
