The cinema was starting to empty as the show ended. Standing up, Hazeline turned to Xiu. “So, how was it? The movie?” the guardian asked as her charge floated alongside her down the aisle.
“There were…lots of killing and deceit…,” replied Xiu slowly as he thought over the events of the movie. It had been a mafia movie with lots of trigger happy humans in it. Apparently it was the next big hit but…Xiu could not understand how people could watch a movie so filled with…vice. It was troubling, that.
“Yeah, well...I got this premier tickets from a friend who couldn’t make due to personal reasons,” said Hazeline with a shrug. “I’m not too big on all the killing either but the main character was certainly interesting,”
“He’s just a human who has developed rather interesting methods of killing his enemies due to an old conflict of sorts,” said Xiu. “The story was of an average quality,”
“That’s why it’s a sort of action movie, I think,” said Hazeline. “People are in it for the action,”
“So I see. So what are we going to do now, Hazeline?” asked Xiu as they stepped out of the cinema and into the shopping complex. “Planning anything?”
“Yes, there’s a couple of stuff I’d have to get,” replied Hazeline as she took out a short shopping list. “You wanna come along or would you rather head for the bookstore or something?”
“I guess…I wouldn’t mind tagging along,” said Xiu with a smile.

Tari blinked at the credits began rolling. She's been so sucked into the movie that it was a shock to remember she was sitting in the theatre watching it, not actually part of the story. This giant televee was AMAZING! Tari was definitely in love. Mama would have to let Tari come here more often.
Speaking of mama, it would be time to meet her soon. Tari had to be in the lobby when mama arrived. No one wanted a repeat of the last shopping trip.
Rising from her seat, Tari began to float down the aisle to the exit. Ahead of her, she spotted something that had her squealing with excitement: a floating, half-formed body with a glowing blue rune.
Immediately she sped up, chasing after the other Raevan. Finally catching up to them at the entrance to the cinemas, Tari excuted a flying tackle-glomp. "Ghostie!" she squealed. Halloween might be over, but this Raevan was pale enough all over to still be in costume. Or maybe he was part ghost like Tari was part-angel or part-hair? Either way, yay new friend!

Xiu had barely had time to react when he felt the body of someone slamming into him. This was then followed by a loud squeal of ‘Ghostie!’.
Ghostie?
“I-I’m afraid you might have got the wrong person,” said Xiu trying to disengage himself from the other’s overwhelming hug. “My name’s Xiu and…you are a raevan!”
Blue eyes stared at the golden figure who incidentally was still in the act of glomping him. Odd though, Xiu could not remember ever meeting this particular raevan and yet, she was treating him like a long lost friend…or something. That, and the fact that innocence radiated off her like an overzealous air freshener made Xiu uneasy. Besides, people were beginning to stare.
“I don’t believe…we have met,” ventured the white frei as gently as he could while trying his best to look unfazed by the stares of the passersby. “What’s your name?”
---------------------
Hazeline meanwhile had watched the entire incident with open mouthed surprised. Was it possible that…Xiu had not told her about this particular raevan? However, at her charge’s question to the other, it was clear that her frei was just as baffled as she was.
“Uh, are you lost?” asked Hazeline with concern. “Do you need help finding your guardian?”

Glomp greeting over with, Tari backed off the white Raevan. She then extended a hand to help him up - she was a well mannered Raevan, after all. Just... very excitable.
"Yes, Tari is Raevan! Tari is Tari," she explained, full of cheer, tapping her chest (not her boobs, above those) to indicate herself. "Nice to meet, Xiu-ghostie!"
She blinked when Hazeline spoke. Someone Tari had missed seeing the Guardian, too focused on 'discovering' another new Raevan. "Hihi," she chirped, turning to face Hazeline. "Nono, Tari not lost. Been lost. Not fun. Tari is meeting mama... Ah! Here!"
Sure enough, the redhead was approaching the cinema entrance right now. She paused a few feet away from the group, a wry smile crossing her lips as she took in the sight of Tari with yet another new companion. "They ought to just turn you into a Raevan detector. Is this a friend of yours, Tari? Oh," Kali blinked and turned to the other human to introduce herself. "I'm Kali, her guardian. This boy here must be yours?"

Xiu took the offered hand with a sheepish smile. The other was certainly a lively raevan. “Indeed, nice to meet you, Tari. But…I am not really a ‘ghostie’,” said Xiu with a soft laugh. “I am alive, for one thing,”
At Tari’s exclamation, Hazeline turned to see Tari’s ‘Mama’. “Pleased to meet you Kali, I’m Hazeline and yes, that raevan’s mine. He’s Xiu. And raevans do seem to have the knack for finding each other out don’t they?” said Hazeline with a laugh. “Xiu and I, we were just about to head off when Tari greeted us. She’s really a lively young lady,”
“Pleased to meet you, ma’am,” said Xiu politely as he turned to face Kali. Xiu wondered if the other had to leave soon. The white frei certainly hoped not. It would be a shame to not know more about this new friend of his.

Tari peered at the hand currently being held in hers. "Yes, alive and solid. Hmm. Based on ghostie?" she guessed. "Oooh, guess Tari. Guess, guess!"
"Nice to meet the both of you," Kali smiled. She wondered if by 'head off' they were leaving for home, or just leaving the cinema complex and spending time in the mall. Tari was shooting begging glances in Kali's direction, obviously wanting to stay and play with her new friend. "Did you have more shopping to do?"
Tari bounced up and down in mid-air. "Xiu not going home yet, yes? Play with Tari!"

“Oh, no,” said Xiu with a soft laugh. “I’m not based on a ghostie either… It’s the white blood, I think,” said Xiu after a pause. “And uhh…some sort of warrior? Tari? You certainly seem like a knight in shining armour; a lady knight of course,” added Xiu quickly. He had learned that some females were rather proud of their feminine nature and to equate them to men was a one just asking for trouble.
“Why, yes,” said Hazeline. “As a matter of fact, I do have some things to pick up here,” the young woman then cast an amused glance at Xiu at Tari. “Would you like to play with Tari a little longer, Xiu? We could arrange for a meeting place later,” said Hazeline looking at her charge.
“I would like that very much, Hazeline,” said Xiu with a smile. Then turning to Tari, the white frei asked, “What would you like to do, Tari?”

"White blood?" Tari cocked her head to one side and blinked at Xiu. "White? But Xiu look too nice to be made from blood."
Xiu's guess at Tari's base made her laugh and clap her hands. "Almost, almost! Xiu so close. Tari is angel. Fighter angel."
Kali shook her head at the antics of her daughter. "How about we meet back here later. I have things I can do while these two play. Just remember not to get lost this time," she told Tari. "No repeats, please."
Tari nodded seriously. She promised, "Tari be good." Turning to Xiu, she debated her options. The movie had given her some ideas. Although most people had been rather mean, they had all looked so nice in their crisp suits. "Need clothes, yes," she decided. "Dress ups!"

The white frei laughed. “Perhaps,” said Xiu with a shrug. “But I am made of it, nevertheless,”
At the other’s hand clapping, Xiu couldn’t help but smile. “That’s a very noble being, Tari. A fighter angel; and you look every bit as capable of fighting off evil things, I am sure,”
“Well, I’ll be off then,” said Hazeline as she gave the two freis a wave. “Take care now,”
“Will do, Hazeline and see you around ma’am,” said Xiu as he watched Tari’s guardian depart as well. Then, returning his gaze to the warrior angel, Xiu looked surprised but the white frei nevertheless allowed himself to be led by the other. “Clothes? Dress up? Why Tari?”

Tari began to bounce in place as both Guardians made their farewells and left. The smile on her face as she turned to Xiu was blinding. (And possibly a little scary for people who weren't used to the force of exuberance that was Tariel.)
"Why? Because movie give Tari great idea. Tari think Xiu need to... dress like mafia!" With this thrilling announcement, Tari grabbed Xiu's arm and began speeding in the direction of a fancy clothing store that catered to both men and women.
Normally there would have been more discussion. Asking Xiu's opinion, for a start. But for some reason, today Tari just seemed to be doing and saying what she felt, no thinking about it beforehand. It was just lucky that so far, Tari hadn't felt or thought anything bad. Well, she was still an innocent child, after all...

“Me? Dressed like a mafia?”
Alright, perhaps it was quite safe to say that at this point, a little spark of worry was beginning to form within the white frei’s mind. Xiu understood the concept of Halloween but…wasn’t Halloween over already?
As the two frei neared a fancy clothing store, Xiu had to pause to reconsider. Mainly because…fancy clothes were expensive and…it was obvious that the both of them wouldn’t be buying any. “Umm…Tari,” said Xiu uncertainly. “This store, I am not sure that we should….,”

"Yes! Tari and Xiu, mafia!" Tari struck a pose from the movie, pretending she held a gun. She didn't actually want one, of course. But dressing up for Halloween had been fun, and Tari saw no reason to stop just because one holiday was over.
Staring at the store, Tari saw Xiu's point. Hmm, perhaps it was time to display some more tricks, like she'd shown Varun? Yes, Tari had a plan!
Tugging on Xiu's arm, she pulled him to one side of the store entrance. It didn't occur to her that they might look suspicious, floating there and peering inside. Luckily, the kind of people who did enter the store did so while pointedly NOT looking at anyone else. Tari wondered if the roof was really so interesting, to make people walk around with their noses that far up in the air.
"Now!" she hissed as a snooty woman entered. The sales aide walked over to the woman, back to the store entrance - and to the changing rooms. She tugged at Xiu again, darting for the red curtains.

Xiu watched as the female raevan struck a pose and…simply had to smile. Her exuberance was similar to Domevlo’s and it was hard not to be pulled into the whirlwind of childish excitement that was Tari.
But… the warrior angel seemed to have come up with a sort of plan; the manner in which she was looking at the store’s entrance. Then, just as a woman (with a considerably lifted chin) entered, the warrior angel had pulled Xiu into the store and behind a couple of red curtains. It appeared to be the changing rooms and there were a couple of suits in a nearby basket. No doubt clothes that were tried on by previous customers but were not bought. Xiu turned to face the excited angel. “Tari, we shouldn’t be doing this!” whispered Xiu feeling afraid.

"Is fine, we not hurt anyone," Tari said. Darting over to the basket, she hunted through the suits left there. Finding some that looked to be the same style as in the mafia movie, she brought them back to Xiu and offered them to him.
Tari didn't understand his reluctance. She sighed. "We not hurt clothes. Not hurting store. Not hurting other customers. Why so bad that Tari and Xiu want to try on clothes?"
Xiu had mentioned before that it wouldn't be allowed because they obviously weren't there to buy. Again, so confusing. Someone had obviously tried these suits on and not bought them - why couldn't they do the same? For some reason, Tari was having a hard time seeing past what she wanted to to. It was a very unusual occurrence for the angelic Frei, normally so considerate of others.
A mischievous smile in place, Tari stared at Xiu. "Strip!" she gleefully ordered.
