I am Evil Christmas and I think Christmas Cheer is overrated! Stop sticking thousands of little bulbs all over the outside of your houses!
I'm kidding for those of you who DID put lights up. My dad wants to, but I don't really see the point anymore. I love those houses that have light signs telling Santa to land there. Some of those houses don't even have children in them!
But anyway, Are you all hoping for a fun year of christmas on Gaia? I am. I'm hoping for something different than the previous events all through the years on Gaia. Not that my hoping will get anywhere.
Gaia is always the same in its own little ways with being different. If that made any sense to anyone.
But honestly, what are your thoughts on Christmas and Gaia Christmas?

But honestly, what are your thoughts on Christmas and Gaia Christmas? I personally think that x-mas is overrated but I still like x-mas. I work at Starbucks and people tell me if I get annoyed with the x-mas music they play and I say at times. The classical stuff and the original stuff they play are great but then we get to modern x-mas music and I just hear over paid song performers who want to get more money cause they know there's a bank in selling x-mas songs. Gaian X-mas are always subpar to Halloween but this year might be different. Who knows, maybe it will be the best one yet.

I've been listening to christmas music the same time of year for 17 years, and it's starting to all sound the same to me. Christmas just seems so... done... or something.
Er... not that I'm christian, but I still celebrate it with my family and find it conveniantly close to the winter solstice. biggrin

Wow, I wonder what I was on when I wrote that.
I'm not particularly against Christmas or anything, I just don't care for the whole present concept. I like to look at it the same as I would Thanksgiving. Time to get together with family and just hang out like you might not normally do. I'm also atheist, so that goes into the whole anti-christmas for me.
howells.
BUT <3 to everyone in this guild-o at x-mas time!

I used to love Christmas when I was younger. My family had a strange tradition that we don't do anymore because my uncles are "too old" (which I don't believe.)
On my one side my mother has four younger brothers. By me and my brother were still the only children. Every year for christmas my mom would buy nerf guns for everyone and then we'd all battle. It was awesome, even if my uncles ganged up on me and my brother.
Yes, I was sad to see that tradition go. I don't know what christmas will be like this year, because it will be the first without my grandfather (we used to always do it at his house before he left to the nursing home).
Yes, without the nerf guns christmas time became flat. I was almost embarassed to recieve gifts from Uncles that I hardly see another other time besides Christmas and Easter. Plus my brother and I don't really talk to each other that much. Recent years have been better, because as we're growing we get into more discussions with our uncles.
Last year I had to sit and listen to my Uncle complain about how the tree shops are out to get you.
So yeah, even thought I wouldn't call myself christian, I'm not anti-christ or anything. We hardly make our Christmas religious or that fancy. We eat lunch meat and tell sex jokes. The most we get are little nicknacks for eachother, besides my one uncle who gets socks and underwear.
I like Christmas this way.
As for the Gaian Christmas. I don't think I'm going to bother with it.
