With all the information out there about the features that are going to be added into XIV, or what's not going to be there.

What would you add or remove? Lets say you're on the developing floor and have been given the chance to add a feature or remove one?

Personally I would add a much more detailed Character creation system.

In XI, you had very little choices when it came to creating a character. For each race you had 8 Face + hair heads, with two hair colors (16 in total for Taru's, Elvaan's, and Hume's because of two genders) and three heights selections, of Tall, Average, or short. And that's it, not really a creative or detailed system right?

Currently in XIV, the system is starting to look the same except you'll be able to choose the hair and face separately, they actual amount of choices has yet to be released.

Now in my system I'd take a page from Aion which has over 100 body sliders to create unique characters. My system would have several body types for each race and gender. But the real detail would go into creating your character's face, several types of hair styles and colors would be able, along with a selection for individual features like the nose and mouth. Eyes would several different colors.

My system would hopefully bring a large array of unique and interesting characters to the play field.

seconded on the character creration thing
i saw on... i think it was white knight chronicles they had a really indepth character creation system where u can pick out all the individual features colours and sizes but then again they were all human so i understand its hard for a ff game

I doubt it will be that vast, but I a hoping not to run into 100 other clones of myself, hopefully the clothing line will be vast 3nodding

Well according to the current update on the Official site, the Character creation will be similar to what I want, just a bit more controlled. It doesn't seem to use sliders but rather mix and matching. The main thing I'm happy for is facial and skin tone choices. Hopefully we'll be able to get "hair cuts" much like on Gaia just to allow some freedom.

I didn't like how people can be dwarfs like in WoW in Aion (or have crazy green and purple skin lol), it just seems silly. The same with the size difference of tarutarus in ffxi and the other characters, tarutarus were way too small with a huge head. I almost quit playing my fully leveled tarutaru because I wanted a better matching body to sit with my boyfriend's human character. So that's why I have two characters, I made a mithra then continue leveling and playing on both accounts. I like how ffxiv will limit the creativeness a tad, so the world looks a little more realistic. but yea, the more options the better, i just wouldn't get your hopes up high for too many options cuz ffxi took into account how hard it is on ps2 system, but at least the ps3 system is capable of more. i sure hope they implement male mithras though!

They'll be there, it would be FF without them. But they'll most likely have a similar role from XI where they're just Quest and Event NPCs. Could be why there isn't more information on them.

It would also be cool to have a more interactive environment. Like being able to sit on a chair/wall. To be able to climb in some areas like a ladder/rope. being able to jump on and off stuff.

I like the idea of interactivity with objects like chairs. I would love to lay in my own bed!

Something I would like in the game is rather...unrealistic, yet I think it would add realism to the game, is something of a hunger bar. Currently, food is only consumed to increase stats or special effects. What if it became mandatory?

Silly idea, I know, but I personally think it would be interesting. The cooking skill would be in a much higher demand I think.

No, I think that would be silly. This is an MMO not a simulator.
Add the need to eat, and then your character has to drink, go to the bathroom, require sleep etc.

While a Simulator MMOSimulator would be cool (if not just tad bit creepy/sad/nerdy/etc) those features wouldn't feel right in a mmorpg.
But I do agree with the ability to interact with objects like chairs, beds and such.
I think it would be cool to go into a bar and have a virtual discussion about plans and such while sitting around a table like in the concept art.

I would add a FREAKING AUCTION HOUSE like they should have done in the beginning, saving them millions of dollars in having to 're-do' the whole game and they could have been BANKING off of all the millions that would have played it in the first place. But its still free, and they're missing out.
I'm not bitter though. ^^
