Hey there! Here's the deal: I just found my family's old dehydrater in our basement. I want to dust the old thing off and try my hand at making beef jerky, and possibly other kinds, like venison, buffalo and moose. Of course, I've never made any kind of jerky before, so I'm looking for some guidance. Any suggestions, like how to prepare the meat, what to use to flavor it, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is a segment on "Good Eats" that makes great jerky .

Hiking and camping stores usually have a good selection of jerky making supplies. Practice with beef first and then go to game meat. Venison jerky rocks.
