The forest whispers to me.... Fell beings come hither.
Warm forest winds slid through branches, bringing the message of those treading through the forest. Ishka remained perched delicately atop a moss-covered effigy, which was assembled within a ring of other such enormous things. Crimson eyes closed, but bits of red eyeliner were still visible, even beneath her dark locks of hair.
But I wonder if these fell ones will survive the forest. Oh well, a promise is a promise, and I don't wish to be on bad terms with a valkyrian.
The forest was indeed no easy place to get through to. Enchantments were bound everywhere, random bogs could appear anywhere to suck in the hapless victims. Creatures never even spoken of in myth lurked, skulking in the shadows, hungering...And the ruins were at the heart of the forest. The very deep heart.

This metaplot event is focused on purifying those who were tainted with the curse. Either friends may guide them, or they may be pulled towards this place on their own. However, before reaching the Sigil Ruins and Ishka, the purifier, two posts must be made, each representing a trial of the forest. You must get past them through means of normal RP before reaching Ishka.
So, make sure in your first few posts, you roll between 1-4 and best the event which happens to you! If you are traveling with multiple people, the first person who rolls will be choosing the event you participate in. (So you can "party" lol.) Others can of course aid you if they are done with their task, or in a similar one to yours.
Here they are:
If you roll a...
1) You have walked into a part of the forest where no light dwells. Very few plants emit a glow, and that is the only light. Within this darkness, there are thin places in the ground that may fall into underground caves. Beware of them, for who knows what lives beneath...
2) You have provoked a forest guardian, who at first only seemed to be a decript corpse of a knight. It comes to life, and attempts to take your life for rousing it.
3) You have fallen into a murky bog that is as thick as quicksand, and are being sucked in.
4) You've come across a strange structure made of the very trees that resembles a gate. In front of it lurks a large monster-beast, who is not pleased to see you. You must devise a way to get past it.

Eisha had taken the liberty to lead Loki through the forest, unsure if he'd have attacked others. She clutched his hand, her other holding her lance. She was sure he'd have moments where he went berserk again.
"I know you may not be able to control it, but please, do try, as this forest is not exactly a friendly one on the outskirts." She gave him a glance back as she walked, tugging him with her, which was a mistake of hers.
Blooshh...
There was a splash of liquid, and she suddenly felt herself sinking into the muddy murk of a bog. It was as if she had fell into a pond of glue.
"Agh!" she gave a cry as she tried to pull herself out, her lance disappearing to manifest into the wings upon her back, but she couldn't seem to free herself. "Loki...pull me, won't you?" her voice was still relatively calm.

Great. Of all things, when he was so close, there had to be a freakin' monster. Just damned great. At least, while he was here, he could have some fun time~ Although that large monster definitely didnt look as if it was having fun. Oh wait-- he couldn't have fun. His fingers massged his temples in a stressed manner, remembering how Seir had taken some of his power in the destruction awhile back. That idiot didn't give him back his power yet.
s**t. The best he could do was form his regular tiny pistols. This realization took some time, eyes widening as the monster raced towards him. Noctis leapt up, above it's line of vision, the monster looked up confused. He landed on the monster's nose as he came down, ramming his guns into it's eyes. This caused the monster to howl and stagger back, blinded temporarily. That was when Noctis made his discreet escape. He ran like hell because obviously, he was too weak to take on that huge monster right now.

Azra'iel had been caring for Rylia with her homunculi friend Kiru's assistance. Once healed, whenever she had been conscious, up and moving, she had been trying to run off, somehow being drawn into the deep forest. After endless inquiries, Azra'iel had heard whispers of a rumor that the Ruins at the center of the wood held healing for those afflicted with Ruin's curse.
Now he found himself stuck, sinking in some swamp while trying to help the girl to get to the Ruins.
He had not been able to remove his leg on his own and had, in fact, just sunk deeper because of his struggls. By the time he thought to use the branches overhead, he couldn't quite reach them, even with his height. Trying to not move any more than necessary, he was unable to turn and see if Rylia too had stepped into the bog. But by simply shifting his eyes, he was able to meet what he thought might be the rather amused glance of Kiru... who had become what seemed a permanent fixture on his shoulder. Giving a half-hearted glare, the Constellation managed to keep his voice droll and void of the panic he was beginning to feel.
"I don't suppose, Kiru, that you would consider seeing if you could bend a branch low enough so I could pull myself out of this and help Rylia if she needs it? Or have you decided this is a good way to finally get rid of me?"

The forest wasn't inviting at all. Not like he'd thought it might have been. It seemed to whisper every now and then, and he thought he saw something in the corner of his eye more than once. Then again, maybe it was just paranoia. It had set in sometime after he had come down from his temporary "chaos high," a strange fear that crept about in his mind and around him. The slightest noise made him jump, and more than once had he set off a flame in the direction of "something he had seen."
Yep, he was losing his mind. Therefore, he was thankful for Eisha's aid, feeling that it had indeed been the best choice to follow her. She was being so kindly, something he certainly wasn't used to, and he found himself wanting to do whatever he could for her, even in his confused state. He had long ago abolished the idea that all of this was a farce, that she planned to trick him later. Perhaps it was because she was the only one who spoke his language; he didn't know, and didn't really seem to care.
So, when she asked for assistance, of course, he provided. He felt the tug when she began to sink, and looked over his shoulder, expression unchanged as he grasped her wrist with his other hand. Digging his heels into the ground, he tugged, managing to pull her out with some effort. She was light, but the armor she wore added to her weight a bit.
"Careful, Valkyrie," he said quietly, taking off his scarf and offering it to her to use as a towel, of sorts. He didn't know what quicksand felt like, but it didn't look comfortable. Loki wasn't certain if the woman was indeed a valkyrie; she'd denied having any sort of allegiance to Odin, but the term seemed to fit her. For whatever reason, he seemed to prefer it to her name.
He leaned a bit to the side, staring at the quicksand. "Almost ate you alive. Your word seems to hold true." An evil forest. Mm, he didn't like it.

Aeos flew towards the ruins some ways behind Noctis, landing shortly as the gunslinger triggered some strange monster that guarded the rooms. He followed the other male simply because it seemed they had the same destination, because they couldn’t resist the strangely alluring call. Seir didn’t feel it, so he could only assume it was a call that only the cursed could feel. Then again, even if the thief did, he didn’t want to come.
Yet, it was the only time Aeos wished he did. Certainly, it would have been nice, since Seir had stolen and still held a consider portion of his power. Thieves were certainly thieves.
A flicker of amusement passed his face, eyes coolly regarding the back of the monster’s head as it attempted to chase Noctis. Flying fast, he pulled out both his swords and landed on the beast’s back. With two downward stabs of his arms, the ice constellation stabbed at the back of the thing’s head in order to dislocate its’ spine.

Eisha gratefully accepted Loki's hand to pull her from the muck. Luckily, she had only gone in above her knees, so only her greaves were soiled, but did it ever have a death grip on her.
"Thanks," she glanced at his outstretched hand offering her his scarf. Such strange behavior for one cursed. She supposed he must have a strong mind, this one, but even that could not prevent ruin's curse from eating away. It just happened quicker with others, but the end was always inevitable if it could not be purified. Cautiously, she took his scarf, tying one end on his hand, and the other on hers.
They were about to enter one of the deepest and darkest parts of the forest, and that linking tie between them was more than necessary. As they stepped past large, moss-covered, raised roots of ancient trees, the light mingling in the trees became more and more dim, until they were only surrounded by darkness. Eisha's lance, which she had manifested back in her hand again provided only a dim glow near them.
The ground was thin, and it seemed to crumble slightly under the press of her boots. "I fear there may be something living beneath the earth here."

Rosel hadn't though it was possible to be miserable than she had been when they had entered Priyal, no, cities had been at the absolute bottom of her list of things enjoyed.
The list had recently been revised.
Running about in the woods had taken the new low. Why must these important places be so inaccessible? Not that she cared why it was important, all she knew was that Aeos and the insufferable Noctis were headed there to rid themselves of the Curse. And she was the one stuck spying on them. Seir had opted, in his incredible graciousness, to stay behind. No doubt to get some alone time away from the rest of the group. Or perhaps to dry-clean his coat.
Alone time was all well and good, Rosel reflected as she climbed ungracefully over a massive tree root. But it was hard to make a little chaos when you were alone. What was the point of destruction if there was no one around to witness it? And she couldn't simply burn the forest down; Noctis may have been extraordinarily expendable, but Rosel doubted Seir would be too pleased that she had also sent his brother to an agonizing death via forest fire.
Growling in frustration, she sent a fat bolt into the bare dirt some distance from her. Wait, bare dirt? Looking up, the undergrowth suddenly dropped off around a set of trees neatly formed in a row, their branched intertwining together to form what could have been a gate-
A growl and a rush of putrid air ran over her and Rosel stumbled to the side lightning dancing in circles around her person. Through watering eyes, she saw a massive beast of jutting teeth and clumped brown fur, slumped over small back legs, arms dragging massive claws. In places it was green with moss, sprouting higher along its back to form larger fungi that rose and fell with each heaving breath.
Rosel grinned and jumped back several paces, just out of immediate reach for the beast. Finally, an audience for her destruction.

What was that crash behind him? He looked behind him to see Aeos on the beast's back, impressed. Aeos wasn't bad at fighting. Physically, anyways, since Noctis had only seen displays of his elemental power, really. And he was far too distracted the last battle to even notice.
But as he turned to call out to Aeos, something moved behind him. A metal sound. A sword sliced down, Noctis barely dodged the sharpened edge. In fact, it had sliced his hair-- He missed it by several inches. Looking up, in front of him, he saw a dead.. knight? Great. He just had to wake everybody up today.
"Whoa--Whoa-- Why can't the bitches just stay dead?!"
Noctis said futilely at it's armored body. Oh ew. Did he have to take off it's armor to shoot at it? He didn't want to touch a dead knight anymore than he would have.. an ugly girl. Damn. Instead, he settled for hitting the knight's head with the hard orichalum metal of his gun. The head moved and cracked slightly--- but still there.
And Noctis had heard the bone crack too. Disgusting. The guy was still standing. What did he expect though? It was a dead body.

As those fell cursed who braved the forest drew nearer and nearer, Ishka only waited. The forest spoke to her of what happened, and she smiled, laying upon the mossy ruins, her immensely long tresses of dark hair spilling around her on the rock, like water streaming away. Who would be the first to come upon her here?
"I promised you a silly thing, pale girl." she thought, reminiscing about her encounter with Haveni not even a day before, as the pale one had traversed through the forest alone. "But a promise is a promise, and you've given me a remarkable gift in return."
A wind moaned through the clearing the ruins were in, as if blowing into the largest stone effigy. The effigy depicted some great symbol of a beast, or a monster with human hands, who seemed to oversee the entirety of the ruins, and each other smaller stone effigy.
The other stones that were erected in a circle around the great ruins all held different images upon them. One seemed to have the visage of a firey beast, another had a girl torn in two, with symbols for day and night on either side. Others held similar cryptic images. One could only guess what they meant, if anything.
"I'm hungry." she mumbled, wishing they'd arrive soon.

It seemed that no matter she tried to do the passed who knows how long, that every time she tried to get away this light constellation was right on her tail. It was getting rather annoying and soon found herself trying to find a way to get around him or get rid of the nuisance all together. At least, those were merely thoughts influenced by her current condition. It wasn't as bad as it had been in the port city, but it still influenced her movements and mind 90% of the time.
It was wandering in a forest that for some reason drew her closer to it, that something quite delightful happened. That fool of a constellation had actually gotten himself into something that acted like quicksand. An opportunity. Her chance to finally be free and do as she pleased without him tailing her or something of the sort. But even as pleased as she was to know she'd be rid of him soon, she found pleasure in watching him slowly sink to his death. A smile spread across her face as she laid flat on her stomach just at the edge of area where the bog started. Reaching for a stick, she grabbed it tightly in her hands and then extended it to Azra'iel watching as he naturally reached for and grabbed hold of it before letting go with an even wider smile.
As strange as it was, and the fact he wasn't cursed or losing his mind, Kiru found this predicament the constellation had gotten himself into rather amusing. True that he was in the middle of this bog with him, but no part of his body had made any sort of contact with it. He looked up towards a branch just above his head before looking down at the sinking constellation who had spoken. "mmm, good question though the second choice is quite more tempting then the first, but on the other hand, helping you out here will leave less work for me and the fact that you'll owe me one" he said with a sly smile as he jumped onto the constellations head, wagging his tag right over the front of his face before jumping up and latching onto the branch above. "Who would that thought the day would come when you'd need luck on your side constellation" he said as he moved towards the edge of a different branch making it bed down towards Azra'iel. "Grab on now or else you face meeting death at the 'hands' of a bog you were foolish to find yourself falling into. Constellations. You'd think they would be more attentive" he said with a sigh as he waited on the branch.
