To the one that I serve The use of tools in your practice: What tools do you use? What elements do they represent? What haven't you used and would like to use? I will give my all

To the one that I serve It depends on what I am doing and what deities I am working with. Some spells requires more tools than others. Thats one of the things I like about being an eclectic. I'm free to explore different tools and different practices. Pagany weekly What elements do they represent? I'm still figuring this out. Though I do have some tools that are definatly one element over another. Pagany weekly What haven't you used and would like to use? I haven't really used my Stang and staff yet. I will give my all

Tools:
I've never used any of the tools I've read about, that are listed as "things every witch should have". I have a tarot deck and some random stones that I like. I've looked at the other things, but nothing's struck as something special to me, so I didn't see a need to buy it.

I'm free to explore different tools and different practices. Are there any that you keep at hand, no matter the deities or practice? I mean, whether you use them or not, just to have them there. neko wyndy wytch I'm still figuring this out. Though I do have some tools that are definatly one element over another. Do you think they have to have a set element, or could they change depending on your intentions? neko wyndy wytch I haven't really used my Stang and staff yet. What do you think you could use those for?

What tools do you use? It depends on what I am doing and where I am. A pentacle, a chalice, a working knife, a dish, mortar and pestle, sometimes a cauldron and a wand, if it is in the kitchen I use my cast iron pots, wooden spoon, mortar and pestle, if I am outside I generally don't use anything if I do it is whatever I find around me at the time.
What elements do they represent? I don’t think my tools represent the elements. I do have a dish of river water, a dish of stones I have collected, a handmade candle, and vase of feathers, and an amethyst geode. Used to represent water, earth, fire, air and spirit respectively.
What haven't you used and would like to use? I don’t often use my athame, I have on and love it, but I have a small space to work in and I am very clumsy so I tend to leave it sheathed and simply hold it when I chant or meditate. I would love to use a staff. I am as yet to find the proper branch to make it out of though.

To the one that I serve kage no neko Are there any that you keep at hand, no matter the deities or practice? I mean, whether you use them or not, just to have them there. My ritual blade. kage no neko Do you think they have to have a set element, or could they change depending on your intentions? I think that would depend on the tool. My wand is always earth because its made of earth. Athame of fire because it is forged in fire. Feather/bell air, ect. So it depends on the tool and the spell. kage no neko What do you think you could use those for? The stang can be an altar and focal point during ritual. Though I need to decorate mine a bit more. I will give my all

I don't really understand it, but it works and makes me feel better.

Quote: Now do you have tools for ritual and tools for spells or just tools? Just tools, I use them whenever I have a need for them, regardless of whether it is spiritual ceremony or spell work. Quote: Interesting/. Why those specific elements? Because of where I live I suppose, I often see the interaction of wind, water and earth. The spirit to me is the universal shimmering energy thread that runs through everything and interconnects us all. I tend to view fire as a representative of heat actually. Flame is not really something that occurs naturally in the nature around me, what touches me is the heat of the sun or the radiant heat from the center of the earth. My path is very centered on the spirit of place, the spirit of the land local to me, so that is where my elemental points are drawn from, the land around me. I have been working with and contemplating the Celtic idea of three element Land Sea and Sky as of late, but it hasn’t worked its way into my practice yet. Quote: Why do you have an athame? Because when I was young and new to the path I thought I needed one. My husband (at the time my boyfriend) bought it for me as a gift for Yule. It works great with my energy and can direct it well; however I rarely if ever cast a full circle. Also as I said small space, plus clumsy me with feline and offspring variables make an equation for disaster. Quote: I won mine at the pagan pride day last year. That is awesome. I usually keep an eye out when I am hiking. I figure when the time is right I will find what I seek.

To the one that I serve MercyWild Just tools, I use them whenever I have a need for them, regardless of whether it is spiritual ceremony or spell work. I see. Now did you consecrate the tools for use in magic and ritual/spiritual or no? MercyWild Because of where I live I suppose, I often see the interaction of wind, water and earth. What about fire in the aspect of the sun? MercyWild The spirit to me is the universal shimmering energy thread that runs through everything and interconnects us all. So spirit is a form of energy that connects us all? MercyWild I tend to view fire as a representative of heat actually. Flame is not really something that occurs naturally in the nature around me, what touches me is the heat of the sun or the radiant heat from the center of the earth. So would you view heat as an element then? MercyWild My path is very centered on the spirit of place, the spirit of the land local to me, so that is where my elemental points are drawn from, the land around me. Interesting. I have a relationship with the spirit of a tree that lives in my land. I also just started to pray to the spirit of my home every morning. Part of my training was setting up an altar or shrine to the spirit of the home. So I did. It seems that the spirit of place is a theme that runs through many pagan religions. Would you agree on that? How we work with them and view them may be different but would you say it'a a common theme? MercyWild I have been working with and contemplating the Celtic idea of three element Land Sea and Sky as of late, but it hasn’t worked its way into my practice yet. I can kinda see that myself but my tradition deald with 5 elements. MercyWild Because when I was young and new to the path I thought I needed one. My husband (at the time my boyfriend) bought it for me as a gift for Yule. It works great with my energy and can direct it well; however I rarely if ever cast a full circle. Also as I said small space, plus clumsy me with feline and offspring variables make an equation for disaster. Yeah. Thats why I dont use my sword. I do use my athame from time to time, but not always. I need to buy a new feather for directing energy. I had this full ceremonial circle casting where I directed the energy of each element through a tool specific to that element. Now I don't have that tool any more. It might be at my parents... MercyWild That is awesome. I usually keep an eye out when I am hiking. I figure when the time is right I will find what I seek. Oh I agree. This one was cut from some one's yard. I saw it and thought..I want that. So I put my name in the raffle and I won. My Stang was cut from a tree up at my parents. I will give my all

kage no neko I've tried figuring out what they mean, but it doesn't really seem to matter. To the one that I serve It does for some people. One of the books I have for a source states that the color of a crystal or stone may infact tell you what you can use it for. So thats one of the keys I use when working with stones. I will give my all

Usually a staff, candles, a brass bell and some findings. Maio-gi What elements do they represent? They don't really represent elements. Maio-gi What haven't you used and would like to use? Some of the chemical oxides that enhance flame colors.
