An action-packed special effects masterpiece with the tagline: Heroes Aren't Born, They're Built.

Robert Downey Jr. is spot on in his performance of Tony Stark.
This role redeems him of past discretions and seemingly embraces them at the same time.
Tony Stark is an eccentric womanizing billionaire who happens to be an engineering genius.
He is more concerned with where the next party is going to be than running his company.
Good thing his late father’s good friend Obadiah is still on the scene.
He takes care of the day to day while Tony goes out and plays.
Since Tony is the face of Stark industries, he must on occasion attend events and perform demonstrations of his products.
One such trip lands him in Afghanistan where he will demonstrate his new Jericho missile.
On the way back from that demonstration the army vehicle escorting Tony back to the airport is attacked.
He manages to escape the vehicle but is in the middle of the desert and under heavy gunfire.
The last thing he sees before passing out is one of his own weapons: a small bomb
with the words Stark Industries written on the side.
. . . . . . .
When he wakes he finds himself in a cave. There is a car battery hooked into his chest.
Another prisoner rigged it up so that the shrapnel left in his chest from the missile's explosion does not reach his heart.
If it does, Tony will die.
Stark doesn't fancy walking around with a car battery for the rest of his life
so he fashions a miniature version of something he invented some time ago. The Arc Reactor. An electromagnetic power source.

His captors want him to assemble a missile for them
but instead he creates an armored suit. This is the prototype for what will become the Iron Man suit.
He uses the suit to escape and when he returns home he announces his company will cease making weapons.
This news is not well received. Stocks in Stark Industries plummet
and Obadiah seeks full control of the company citing that Tony is not in his right mind since the attack.
Tony’s assistant, the lovely and capable miss Pepper Potts tries to help Tony dig up some dirt on Obadiah
and is shocked at what she discovers.
In case you have not yet seen this movie I will not reveal this plot point.
I highly recommend seeing this. It was beyond my expectations and has become one of my favorite movies.
