Lesson 3: INFERI ... ... ... (even though no inferi will be brought here)
Due November 27th
The teacher waves her wand and two images appear on a board:

"These pictures may seem a little disturbing to some of you, but this is some of what you may possibly face out there. There is a reason is class was called Defense Against the Dark Arts. Inferi are dead people that have been reanimated by a wizard influenced by the Dark Arts, from now on in the lesson called a Dark wizard. They are very much like what you may call a zombie, except they weren't created to eat your brain. They are reanimated to do the Dark wizard's bidding. Inferi are most likely conjured from a branch of magic called Necromancy, which is the art of raising the dead by magic. Though it has never worked, it has come close enough, by raising dead bodies and animating them, even though they are practically mindless and cannot think.
Since Inferi are creatures of the dark, they very much dislike light and heat. A good way to repel them are fire-producing spells such as Incendio, Lacarnum Inflammare, and Fiendfyre. I would not recommend Fiendfyre because it is cursed fire and a type of Dark Magic. It is almost impossible to put out and practically impossible to control.
As you see in the second picture, there is a wizard using a fire spell to get rid of some approaching Inferi. The first picture is a picture of a single Inferius."
What you do? Answer these questions:
1.) What is an Inferius?
2.) What is the branch of Dark Magic that is supposed to raise the dead?
3.) What is the downside to #2's answer?
4.) What are three spells to repel Inferi?
5.) Which of the spells is difficult to control and often called 'cursed fire'?
