Good afternoon people! I FINALLY got to see 2012. And i must say, the movie far from disappoints. If your a huge fan of disaster flicks like i am, then read on my friends!
First off:
STORY: B
The story was decent. I thought some the areas around the end could have used some tweaking. And there were some parts where you kinda went "huh?". But overall it was well written and executed well.
ACTING: B+
A pretty solid performance throughout. Oliver Platt, John Cusak, And Danny Glover all did as well as you would expect them to. Some of the emotional scenes really didn't deliver that well though, and when the characters where crying you really didn't feel much. I also thought that some of the characters adapted a little to well to the situation... They at times didn't really act like hundreds of millions of people where dying around the world every minute..
DIRECTION: A
The director was able to get some mind blowing shots and get some solid performances out of most of his crew. There really are no complaints as far as the direction of this movie.
VISUALS: A++++++++++++
The visuals of this movie where by far the best out of any movie ever made. They were incredibly entertaining to watch, And NO movie has ever had so many breath taking jaw dropping scenes as this one.
It was so mind blowing to watch that people in the theater would just gasp at the sight of it. Really sweeping and exhilarating. Unbelievable special effects. They really raised the bar on this one.
Overall this movie is FANTASTIC! I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a good fun movie to watch. It will leave you at the edge of your seat throughout the movie. Its a disaster film, so things are over the top. And some times so over the top its silly. But this is a disaster film. Its supposed to do this.
So yes extremely good movie. It is 3 hours long though, so if you don't like super long movies then it may not be for you. But it's certainly a movie i'll watch over and over.
