I know Ubuntu (and most linux distros) backport programs, and I could not log into gaia using Firefox 3.6 for linux.

I found out if you download Epiphany, then you can get on gaia.

You can also use chrome or chromium.

But is anyone else unable to use firefox?

I've never heard of anyone having that issue before. Try purging and reinstalling firefox

Agreed I have used firefox 3.6 with many distros and not problems there. Also another thing you may want to try is disabling any Firefox add-ons or UserScripts (Greasemonkey) that effect Gaia and refresh the page.

I'm running Firefox on Ubuntu 10.4 before it's stable and I have no problems with Gaia.
